The Specialty Sales Consultant is responsible for direct promotion of Jazz Pharmaceuticals’ products, and the development and management of business relationships with therapeutic specialists within an assigned geographical territory. The Specialty Sales Consultant (SSC) is an integral part of the commercial team that includes all personnel dedicated to the sales and marketing functions. The Specialty Sales Consultant will implement Jazz Pharmaceuticals’ marketing strategies and marketing tactics to achieve short-term and long-term objectives. This position reports directly to a Regional Sales Manager.

MUST HAVE PHARMACEUTICAL SALES EXPERIENCE

The Specialty Sales Consultant will:

  • Educate physicians and other health care professionals about Jazz Pharmaceuticals products, providing the most current information about the approved indications for the company’s products.
  • Achieve quarterly sales goals and performance targets.
  • Participate in organizing and facilitating meetings for the exchange of medical and product information in line with the company’s policies, regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Analyze the SSC’s designated territory to understand prescribing and purchasing decision processes and any marked differences from national trends.
  • Identify key physicians, health care providers and organizations within assigned territory.
  • Prepare a business plan and area tactical plan for the SSC’s assigned territory.
  • Implement approved plans within established timelines.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with physicians and other influential health care professionals identified in business plans.
  • Present a positive and professional image of Jazz Pharmaceuticals, and ensure activities are consistent with and enhance the company’s ethical pharmaceutical marketing policies and procedures.
  • Comply with all legal/regulatory guidelines of the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, the Prescription Drug Marketing Act, the Pharma Code, OIG guidelines, and all other applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Perform all activities within allocated budget.

Job Requirements:

  • Four-year college/university degree or equivalent is required.
  • Post-graduate business school study, training is preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of three years of pharmaceutical sales experience.
  • At least two years of specialist sales experience is preferred (i.e., neurologists, pulmonologists, psychiatrists, or sleep specialists)
  • Institution experience preferred, i.e., Teaching institutions, University Hospital systems, etc.
  • REMS/HUB/Specialty Pharmacy experience desired
  • Central Nervous System therapeutic sales experience is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of product(s); competitor product(s); and applicable disease states desired.
  • Excellent communication skills strong interpersonal skills, and strong planning and organizational skills are required.
  • Self-motivated and strong ability to excel in a team environment that includes working effectively with cross-functional partners (Medical Science Liaison, Access Reimbursement Managers, Payor Account Executives.
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in territory with significant payor influence.
  • Ability to travel to meet territorial requirements (1 night/week)

Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices and we strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive. For this role, the full and complete base pay range is: $116,800.00 - $175,200.00

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, and other pertinent factors. The goal is to ensure fair and competitive compensation aligned with the candidate's expertise and contributions, within the established pay framework and our Total Compensation philosophy. Internal equity considerations will also influence individual base pay decisions. This range will be reviewed on a regular basis.

At Jazz, your base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate may also be eligible for a discretionary annual cash bonus or incentive compensation (depending on the role), in accordance with the terms of the Company's Global Cash Bonus Plan or Incentive Compensation Plan, as well as discretionary equity grants in accordance with Jazz's Long Term Equity Incentive Plan.

The position will be responsible for recruiting, training, and supporting a network of independent health brokers selling Optimyl's products.

Responsibilities
  • Make 40+ outbound calls daily into the broker market
  • Create awareness of the Company's products to the broker market
  • Secure relationships with target brokers and train them on the Company's products, positioning, and processes
  • Evaluate broker performance and continually recruit brokers as additions to the broker organization
  • Identify potential brokers from referrals, references, or industry listings
  • Deliver white glove support to broker partners through the quoting and underwriting process.
  • Assist broker partners in developing selling strategies to obtain potential employer client prospects.
  • Provide timely communication to brokers providing information on product offerings, network changes, rate changes, and plan designs
  • Master Company's product portfolio to best represent the Company in the marketplace
  • Develop relationships with the Company's Account Managers to ensure more seamless service to sold accounts
  • Provide feedback to RVP on the receptivity of the Company's product portfolio in the market and recommendations for future development
  • Meet daily activity metrics as defined by the RVP.
  • Input demographic disposition of groups and plan designs into the CRM for reporting
  • Travel within the region, as needed, to solidify key broker relationships or close more significant deals

  • High School Diploma/GED - Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university is preferred but not required
