Sign Language Interpreters Needed in Polk County for the 25/26 School Year!
Requirements:
+ Graduation from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree
+ Hold a level 3.5 - 5.0 Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) with a passing score on the EIPA knowledge exam or National Certification
+ Proficiency in American Sign Language and extensive sign language vocabulary
Hours: 37.5 hours/ week
The Educational Sign Language Interpreter is a trainedprofessional who facilities communication between deaf or hard-of-hearingstudents and others within an educational setting. Often, American SignLanguage (ASL) is used to interpret spoken language into sign language and viceversa, which ensures students have accommodations to classroom instruction,activities and learning discussions.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Proficiency in American Sign Language
+ Associates degree or Bachelors degree in interpreting, deafstudies or related field, preferred
+ State Board of Education Initial Sign Language InterpreterCertificate (as applicable)
+ Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA)certificate (as applicable per state regulation or client requirement)
+ Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification (as applicable per state regulation or client requirement)
+ Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
+ Current CPR if applicable
+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
+ Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
