Bachelor's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher).Three (3) years of full-time research experience. Two (2) years of full-time patient-facing clinical trials research experience involving interventional studies (drug or device). Experience working with Electronic Health Records for inclusion/exclusion criteria and consenting research subjects.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
Five (5) or more years' experience in clinical trials and regulatory compliance. Bilingual in English and Spanish. Phlebotomy experience. Experience in processing human samples.
**Brief Description of Duties:**
Ensure smooth, accurate progress of the clinical trial from planning stage through trial completion and post study closure by working with the investigator, human subjects, Institutional Review Board, university and sponsor. Incumbent works independently with general direction from the Principal Investigator and performs complex and interrelated tasks for multiple studies.
**Duties:**
+ Coordinate various research trials and ensure compliance with federal guidelines.
+ Screen, consent, and enroll patients for clinical research trials; complete study patient visits; collect, enter, and submit clinical trial patient data.
+ Collection, processing, and shipment of human blood samples and biospecimens
+ Administrative duties such as billing, budgeting, and contract administration; maintenance of clinical research study supplies and drug accountability.
+ Interact and correspond with various internal and external constituents including sponsors, cooperative groups, Institutional Review Board and regulatory agencies.
+ Assist principal investigators with grant submissions and renewals.
+ May supervise or coordinate the work of other staff.
+ Other duties as assigned.

The Department of Pathology at Stony Brook University's Renaissance School of Medicine (RSOM) is seeking clinical pathologist (M.D.) or clinical laboratory scientist (Ph.D.) to serve as Section Director of the Immunology/Serology and Flow Cytometry clinical laboratory. This position is at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor/Clinical Associate Professor (dependent upon qualifications and experience). This appointment carries responsibilities in clinical service, education, research and institutional service missions of the RSOM. The Section Director will provide administrative oversight for the Immunology/Serology and Flow Cytometry laboratories within the Stony Brook University Hospital's (SBUH) Department of Laboratories.
The successful candidate will join a strong and experienced clinical pathology faculty at Long Island's leading academic medical center, with opportunities for collaborations in basic and translational science and teaching opportunities across the breadth of clinical pathology. Teaching responsibilities will include instruction of medical and dental students, clinical residents and fellows, and students enrolled in Stony Brook's Health Sciences programs. Strong candidates should demonstrate the ability to lead a team of experienced technical professionals, and to expand and retain talented clinical laboratory scientists and medical technologists-efforts supported by a recently revised organizational and salary structure. The Section Director must also stay current with emerging technologies (e.g., multi-parameter flow cytometry panels, advanced serologic platforms) to enhance laboratry capabilities. Clinical responsibilities include reviewing and interpreting immunology, serology and flow cytometry test results, as well as providing consultative support to clinical teams. Experience in designing and validating clinical laboratory assays and testing services is another important distinguishing quality.
Abundant opportunities for scholarship exist in collaborations with established research groups in microbiology, immunology, and oncology at the RSOM. Intramural funds are available to support investigator-initiated projects designed to generate preliminary data needed for longer-term extramural support. Advancement in this position will also involve service as an active member for working groups and committees spanning the broad mission of an academic medical center at the institutional, New York state, and national professional organization levels.
Academic rank at the Stony Brook University School of Medicine will be commensurate with experience and academic record.

**Brief Description of Duties:**
We are looking for a Research Scientist to join the Atmospheric Remote Sensing Group ( , a leader in innovative multi-sensor atmospheric remote sensing from ground, airborne, and satellite platforms. Our group develops advanced algorithms and data analysis methods to address fundamental scientific challenges, including global cloud distributions, cloud microphysical properties and processes, dust aerosol distributions and impacts, and atmospheric boundary layer (ABL) structure and dynamics.
In recent years, we have focused on advancing airborne lidar technologies. The Multi-function Airborne Raman Lidar (MARLi) and Airborne Doppler Lidar (ADL), supported by NSF, provide simultaneous measurements of water vapor, temperature, wind, aerosol, and cloud profiles within the planetary boundary layer (PBL) from the NSF/NCAR C-130 and G-V aircraft and the University of Wyoming King Air. MARLi and ADL now serve as NSF Community Instruments and Facilities (CIF) to meet the atmospheric science community's needs in the PBL (link). They have been successfully deployed in multiple large-scale field campaigns, spanning from the Arctic to the tropics, creating a unique dataset for studying PBL processes and clouds.
There will be two positions. The Research Scientist will focus on analyzing these campaign datasets to investigate cloud processes, particularly mixed-phase clouds, and boundary layer dynamics OR will concentrate on advancing MARLi and ADL system capabilities and supporting their operations. Both positions will involve collaborations with a broad network of external partners, co-supervision of undergraduate and graduate students, and contributions to proposal writing for federal funding opportunities.
The successful candidates will have a proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team and have excellent communication and scientific writing skills in English
Research Scientist duties will include:
● Use airborne remote sensing and in situ measurements to study cloud properties and processes (especially mixed-phase clouds) and their interactions with boundary layer processes or improve MARLi/ADL observation capabilities or develop new lidar capacities and support field data collections.
● Lead the preparation, writing and publication of scientific manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals.
● Assist in the supervision of undergraduate and graduate students.

**Required Qualifications:** (as evidenced by an attached resume)
A Doctoral Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Medicine or a closely related field. The candidate must have a minimum of five years of research experience in hematology and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), including at least three years of research experience following completion of the doctoral degree or foreign equivalent. The candidate should demonstrate expertise in the development and application of iPSC-derived disease models and in research on hematologic disorders, along with a strong record of first-author publications in iPSC-based human disease modeling and/or hematologic disorders. Experience in research management, including the supervision of trainees, coordination of collaborative projects, and oversight of laboratory operations such as supply procurement and inventory management.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
The successful candidate is preferred to have clinical expertise in myeloid malignancies (e.g., acute myeloid leukemia) and pre-malignant conditions (e.g., clonal hematopoiesis, myelodysplastic syndromes). Demonstrated ability to secure extramural funding is strongly preferred, with a record of obtaining at least one competitive postdoctoral fellowship award.
**Job Description:**
Stony Brook University has a Senior Research Scientist position in the Department of Medicine-Division of Hematology and Oncology ( . The incumbent will develop, design and run research experiments and ensure that all research protocols follow the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University. The Research Scientist will be responsible for the operations of the lab.
**Specific Duties:**
+ Develop and design research experiments in the field of hematology and stem cell biology. Conduct research experiments utilizing specialized techniques, applying theories, concepts and principles in the field of myeloid disorders.
+ Responsible for the overall management of the lab, may supervise postdoctoral associate and research support positions. Will provide training on specific specialized skills and research methods, and is responsible for the operation of the lab.
+ Prepare manuscripts for publications in peer reviewed and/or scientific journals.
+ Prepare grant proposals; apply for grants, to include writing proposals for the research projects, identifying funding sources, and training opportunities.
+ Other duties as assigned.
