- May participate in pre-visit chart preparation by ensuring required lab results and documentation are available in the medical record for practitioner review (for practices using paper medical records).
Performs variety of other clerical functions such as filing of paper medical records, processing insurance forms, preparing financial records, photocopying, answering phones, and assuring efficient flow of patients through the suite, etc.

**A Brief Overview**

**A Brief Overview**
Supports clinic physicians by proficiently operating the Electronic Medical Record by efficiently entering orders and documenting patient encounters for the physician; allowing physicians to focus their time on direct patient care. While this is not a direct patient care position, the individual may be called on periodically to perform patient care to assure efficient patient flow and high quality care and services.
**What you will do**
+ Learns and maintains proficient understanding and utilization of the Electronic Medical Record software.
+ Provides accurate, completed, legible and timely documentation of all patient encounters and procedures in the medical record.
+ Enters accurate, complete, legible and timely orders based on physician's orders in the medical record.
+ Works collaboratively as a team member with the physician, nurse(s), and receptionists in a clinic setting to provide exceptional patient care.
+ Maintains knowledge of preauthorization process and ensures all criteria are met before orders for advanced imaging are placed.
+ Ensures that the encounters have complete and accurate diagnoses and that documentation supports the appropriate billing/coding levels.
