We are looking for a **Senior Content Designer** to join our MAI Monetization Content Design team, which is focused on supporting the current and future monetization experiences for our Microsoft Copilot, Inventory, Advertiser, Platform, and Publisher teams. As a Senior Content Designer, you'll shape the future of monetization experiences across Microsoft's AI-powered platforms through strategic thinking, craft excellence, and deep collaboration. You'll define and deliver content strategies that translate complex business goals and customer needs into intuitive, engaging product experiences. Working across multiple product areas, you'll partner with designers, engineers, researchers, and product managers to drive clarity, consistency, and innovation.
This is a hands-on role where you'll lead by concepting, writing, structuring, and refining content that guides customers through powerful, scalable experiences. You'll also mentor others, advocate for inclusive and accessible design, and help evolve our content design discipline.

**Responsibilities**
+ Translate business goals, customer needs, and technical constraints into meaningful, intuitive product experiences.
+ Drive content strategy across multiple monetization products, influencing product planning and prioritization.
+ Create and optimize information architecture, taxonomies, navigation, and messaging hierarchies for coherent task completion.
+ Combine UX thinking with design execution to produce usable, elegant interfaces.
+ Lead terminology decision-making and advocate for clear, concise, and purposeful language aligned with Microsoft's voice and style.
+ Develop and synthesize customer insights, comparing qualitative and quantitative data to identify larger issues and opportunities.
+ Use digital and physical tools to prototype and demonstrate design concepts to stakeholders and for research.
+ Create and extend design system patterns, brand voice principles, and style guides across product areas.
+ Help others use the design system and drive consistency within and across teams.
+ Apply marketing strategy to define product positioning, messaging direction, and creative execution guidance.
+ Facilitate brainstorming sessions and workshops to answer business questions through design thinking, rapid prototyping, and testing ideas.
+ Persuade and sell work effectively in all contexts to amplify team capabilities and broaden the impact of content design.
+ Present and adapt ideas at all stages of the content design process for different audiences.
**Qualifications**

+ Master's Degree in Arts, Humanities, Digital Communications, UX Design, Human Computer Interaction, Communications, English, Journalism, or related field AND 2+ years experience working in product or service design
+ OR Bachelor's Degree in Arts, Humanities, Digital Communications, UX Design, Human Computer Interaction, Communications, English, Journalism, or related field AND 3+ years experience working in product or service design, copywriting, technical writing, writing (e.g. for marketing, advertising, e-commerce), brand design, or brand marketing
+ OR equivalent experience
+ Experience strategizing and designing the experience of products.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Solid portfolio demonstrating high craft, strategic thinking, and impact across multiple product areas. (please provide password if applicable)
+ Experience with prototyping tools and design systems.
+ Proven track record of designing and delivering content strategies for complex, large-scale products.
+ Experience mentoring peers and contributing to the growth of a content design discipline.

+ Deep understanding of customer-centered design, UX writing, and information architecture.

Content Design IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $34,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD 158,400 - 258,000 per year.
