One Federal Solution (OFS) seeks a Skilled Laborer to join our Washington, DC team. As a Skilled Laborer, you will perform tasks that primarily require physical abilities, effort, and specialized skills typically associated with commercial moving services. Skilled Laborer are responsible for the following tasks, which represent a sample of commonly required functions but are not an all-inclusive list:
Skilled Laborer Tasks and Duties:
- Load and unload trucks and other conveyances, including non-contractor-provided vehicles.
- Move supplies, materials, and equipment to and from designated locations using appropriate equipment such as hand trucks, stevedores, dollies, and straps.
- Stack materials for storage.
- Move and arrange heavy office furniture, equipment, appliances, and antiques.
- Properly secure all transported items to prevent shifting, damage, and ensure compliance with Department of Transportation requirements.
- Pack items in boxes for moving, taking special care when handling computer equipment, antiques, appliances, and fragile items.
- Minimum of six months of experience in labor or moving work.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Ability to read and write sufficiently to understand and follow basic written instructions.
- Knowledge and experience using hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, chisels, and hammers.
- Training in the proper use of stevedoring equipment, dollies, hand trucks, and jacks.
- Ability to lift at least 60 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to work in hot or cold environments, in cramped positions, or on ladders.

Key Responsibilities:

What You Bring:

Primary Function: SurView Field Services, a subsidiary of Magnolia River, has an exciting new opportunity for a CDL Laborer to join our team. This role requires a combination of CDL driving skills, the operation of specialized equipment, and skilled manual labor. The work is typically related to the inspection, remediation and removal of exposed and elevated metallic natural gas piping located under and or attached to bridges, in ditches and creeks.
Compensation range is $25 to $30 an hour depending on experience.
*Class A or B CDL license is required. Travel may be required 25% of the time.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of specialized under bridge equipment.
- Accurately record DOT HOS with the use of an ELD.
- Trip plan, drive, and operate commercial vehicles (CDL) required.
- Participate in the inspection, removal or remediation of piping.
- Ensure and inspect quality of work.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Working knowledge and application of DOT HOS.
- Proficient with Microsoft suite of programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Basic math skills to assist with measurements and computations.
- Ability to interpret and follow company and client safety policies.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with contractors, clients, and property owners.
