Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Software Architect who operates at an exceptional level, capable of designing robust software that follows industry best practices. The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Architect / Software Engineer Developer (Experienced or Senior Level) to join the Special Equipment Group (SEG) team located in Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

The SEG Team is seeking a Software Architect to lead the development and execution of new architecture solutions for a proprietary program, as well as a Software Engineer Developer to support product development. The successful candidate will work with the SEG team, the customer, program management, and others to develop an overall software solution throughout the capability releases that affect the SEG team products.

The customer is expanding product capabilities to support the fielding of new systems and to incorporate new technologies. Upon successful design of an architecture that meets all system requirements, the architect will lead the engineering team in its implementation and maintenance of that design through the development, lab test, and flight test phases of the development cycle.

This proprietary program attracts new business as a result of user community recognition. The product target OS is Windows running on PCs. All products are developed using .NET C# within a strong object-oriented architecture. The Integrated Development Environment for source code and GUI development is Microsoft Visual Studio. Automated unit and integration testing are developed in C# using a custom C# framework for automated integration testing using UI Automation. Qualification testing is manual and is performed on the target PC hardware. Developer workstations consist of a development tech PC and a PC for external access.

Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels, including: Experienced and Senior Software Engineers.

Position Responsibilities :
  1. Design, develop, integrate, and test software in C# / Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)
  2. Lead activities to develop, document, and maintain complex architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systems
  3. Lead development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system
  4. Develop software verification plans, test procedures, and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
  5. Provide technical leadership for software projects and lead software supplier management activities
  6. Lead development, selection, tailoring, and deployment of processes, tools, and metrics
  7. Lead software research and development projects. Serve as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes, and regulations
  8. Track and evaluate software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards
  9. Investigate and resolve software problem reports / bugs
  10. Define software requirements
  11. Train and mentor others
  12. Participate in an Agile scrum team
  13. Implement new features and enhancements

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at one of the listed location options.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements :

This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience) :
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
