Software Engineer III Job Description

Your day-to-day will look something like this:
- Resolve bug reports
- Communicate resolution of problems and plans for new features
- Provide flexible, maintainable, and reliable software solutions
- Mentor other software engineers
- Assist in interviewing software engineering applicants
- 2+ years of experience with C#, Python, Node.js, PHP or similar backend language
- 2+ years of experience with Helm, Kubernetes, and Docker
- Frontend experience with a JavaScript framework, preferably VueJS

Beast Code is transforming the software industry in Northwest Florida. As our project pipeline continues to grow, we're looking to add software engineers who are passionate about programming and eager to create applications that break the mold and set new standards.

Our projects run the gamut from game-based learning programs for defense contracts to 3D model solutions for commercial clients. This role designs, develops, and tests software applications throughout the entire lifecycle using standard frameworks and source control tools. Responsible for breaking down requirements from interactive mockups, wireframes, technical specifications, bug reports, or requests from other teams.
SEs are responsible for the scalability and maintainability of the codebase, and for identifying and adopting new technology and frameworks. Indirectly, SEs assist the rest of the team by ensuring that QA has the tools necessary to test the application to ensuring design is creating mockups and wireframes that are technically sound, and the product owner has a reasonable understanding of the technical state of the product.
SEs are familiar with technologies such as HTML 5, CSS 3, JavaScript/Typescript, Vue, Vite/Webpack, Python, C# .NET, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, or SQL.

The Boeing Company is looking for an Experienced Software Engineer - Test & Verification to join the C-17 Mission Software & Services team located in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) & Boeing Global Services (BGS) Software Engineering organization. The C-17 program develops and qualifies mission critical flight software under both sustainment and new capabilities contracts. Candidates will support software design, development, integration, and qualification as part of full life-cycle development activities in an Agile environment. C-17 sustainment covers mission systems, displays, communications controllers, and various cockpit interfaces for the airlift platform, along with support for DevOps and infrastructure maintenance.
Position Responsibilities:- Designs, develops, and completes test and verification of software products to ensure quality, reliability, and functionality.
- Partners with stakeholders to review and identify software requirements, test objectives, test strategies, and testability.
- Designs test plans, cases, and scenarios to meet software requirements and specifications.
- Sets up and configures test environments, including hardware, software, and network configurations to replicate production environments.
- Executes test cases and scenarios to verify functionality, performance, and safety of software systems, identifying and reporting defects, issues, and potential vulnerabilities found during testing processes.
- Provides test results and feedback on software design and functionality to resolve defects, issues, and potential vulnerabilities.
- Creates, documents, and maintains test plans, procedures, cases, artifacts, metrics, and data in accordance with data privacy and security protocols and standards.
- Develops and maintains automated test scripts and frameworks to improve efficiency and effectiveness of testing processes.
- Performs software project management functions across test and verification activities involving multifunctional teams.
- 5 years of experience in test script development, C/C++, and ADA.
- 5 years of experience in real-time embedded operating systems, Linux, and Windows.
- 5 years of experience in scripting languages.
- 5 years of experience in software requirements, test planning, and Agile workflow.
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- Knowledge of verification, validation, certification and qualification processes and procedures, including knowledge of governing regulations and compliance requirements. Ability to assess and document test or analysis data to show compliance.
- Knowledge of how to derive and allocate requirements (e.g., system, sub-system, software) and show traceability throughout the product lifecycle.
- Ability to design and develop automation of software tests, execute automated tests, track results, manage test data, and utilize results to improve software quality.
- Knowledge of implementation of software test frameworks, tools and simulations.
- Knowledge of software practices (e.g., configuration control, change management, problem reporting, software design, peer review, testing, and T&E specific practices), programming languages, and operating systems.
