Our client in Grapevine Texas is seeking a Full Stack PHP Symfony Software Developer to join their growing team.


This role is 100% onsite.


This is a full time role and not open to contract or C2C candidates.

Background

We are seeking a senior developer to join our in-house engineering team. The platform you’ll support is a large-scale international application that provides features such as user search, in-app communication (letters, chat, photo albums, video messages, video meetings), profile management, accounting, billing, reporting, and a high volume of marketing and transactional email distribution.


The development team supports this platform along with additional management sites, creating and maintaining features and tools that support both users and marketing efforts.

Our current environment consists of legacy PHP code and several custom PHP frameworks in varying stages of migration to Symfony. In this role, you will help maintain the existing codebase, resolve bugs, and implement new functionality. The system is deployed across both datacenter and AWS environments. A major initiative is underway to modernize the full stack, moving from custom PHP and SQL implementations to Symfony and Twig. Strong expertise in Symfony best practices is essential for this role.


We follow Agile methodology with daily stand-ups, sprints, and sprint planning. The broader team includes developers, project managers, system administrators, and QA professionals who collectively support the application and infrastructure.


The current technology stack powers high-traffic user interactions, including real-time chat, in-app messaging, search, billing, and reporting. Core technologies include PHP, Symfony, Twig, ElasticSearch, Redis, RabbitMQ, ReactiveX, WebSockets, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.

Future plans include fully migrating to Symfony and then building an API-driven architecture using Symfony’s API Platform with a React front end.

You will define the strategy and solutions to build innovative engineering accelerators, frameworks, and libraries to enable Wells Fargo digital transformation and cloud adoption. You will provide subject matter expertise and technology guidance to drive Wells Fargo standards and best practices to support development teams in group CIO areas to manage their technology domains and meet customer expectations. You will implement frameworks and libraries using C# on .NET platform. You will partner with Enterprise Pipeline team on Continuous Improvement/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), Static Application Security Testing (SAST), Software Composition Analysis (SCA) tool chain, and with the InfoSec team for security vulnerability remediations.
