Oversees a team of EMT and EMS Communication staff who are responsible for the movement of patients throughout the medical center. Essential in building this EMS service and implementing both a BLS and ALS service line at the Medical Center. Responsible for identifying, developing and if approved by senior leadership, implementing programs that may assist in patient throughput at the medical center. Responsible for regulatory compliance with departmental policies that they will help develop. Provides direction, leadership, accountability and coordination for the EMS program. Required to stay abreast of new trends and development in EMS practices. Focuses on accelerating organization performance through cohesive strategy planning and execution.
**Job Description:**
**Primary Responsibilities:**
1. Oversees, supervises, manages and directs the administration and operation of Lahey Hospital Medical Center's Emergency Medical Services system. Responsible for staff operations, business planning and budget development. Ensures emergency medical services are in compliance with professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements. (essential)
2. Develops, implements and monitors a master plan for delivery of emergency medical services based on established goals and objectives that assure provision of competent Intra facility patient care. Serves as liaison between the department and the hospital administrators, and outside EMS partners. (essential)
3. Under the supervision of, and with the approval of the EMS Medical Director, establishes, implements, monitors and revises the use of system-wide protocols, policies and procedures for all patient care activities from dispatch through triage, treatment, transport and/or non-transport. 4. Acts as an advocate and proponent of the Lahey Hospital Medical Center's EMS system as a whole. (essential)
5. Develops, implements and oversees operating, revenue and capital budgets for the EMS department by forecasting, submitting relevant data and monitoring revenues. (essential)
6. Manages EMS department resources; i.e., medical supplies, treatment and diagnostic equipment, communications equipment, uniforms, vehicles, buildings, training equipment, physical plants and offices, in accordance with standards consistent with delivery of competent patient care and maintenance of a positive public image. 7. Initiates internal investigation, as required in personnel misconduct, complaints, inquiries and incidents; researches and approves, implements and documents counseling and/or disciplinary action. (essential)
8. Establishes priorities for department activities; delegates assignments to and placement of personnel; ensures proper allocation of personnel and other resources; disseminates information and special orders. (essential)
9. Organizes workflow and prepares schedules; reviews payroll and leave time. (essential)
10. Has the authority to direct and support employees daily work activities. Has the direct responsibility to undertake the following employment actions: hiring, termination, corrective action and performance reviews. Direct Reports: More than 7 Indirect Reports: None
11. Assists in planning, monitoring and/or managing budget in functional area of department.
**Required Qualifications:**
1. High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
2. Massachusetts Paramedic certification preferred.
3. BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, Valid MA Drivers license
4. 8-10 years related work experience required in Emergency medical services. and 3-5 years supervisory/management experience required.
5. Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.

Job Description
Maximus is currently hiring for a Mobile Medical Unit Driver to join our Veterans Evaluation Services (VES) team. This is a remote-travel opportunity. The Mobile Medical Unit Driver is responsible for maintaining, stocking, and transporting the mobile unit to scheduled clinic locations safely, on time and in accordance with company policies. Additionally, the driver will function as a Clinic Intake Specialist for the mobile unit appointments. The Mobile Unit Driver is a public-facing role providing punctual, solutions-oriented customer experience to Veterans and VES providers with a caring and positive attitude.
- Due to contract requirements, only a US Citizen or a Green Card holder can be considered for this opportunity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Travel 100% of the time to mobile unit event sites; site locations could be in any of the 50 states.
- Transport the mobile unit to clinic locations safely, on time, and in accordance with applicable traffic laws and company policies.
- Adhere to DOT hours of service rules and regulations.
- Assist with the loading, unloading, set-up, and tear down of equipment at mobile sites, including displaying snacks/water/flags/veteran material in the waiting area and post VES signs in the vicinity.
- Perform or facilitate basic routine maintenance and interior cleaning services for mobile unit and its associated equipment, including inspecting mobile unit before and after each trip, maintaining a log of vehicle mileage and condition, completing regular medical supply inventory, reporting items to be ordered to Clinic Director/Manager to order. and replenishing stock of clinic/medical supplies.
- Facilitate the operation of the clinic day, including check-in/check-out process and managing sign in sheet, greeting each Veteran, and gathering any medical records or diagnostic results brought in by the Veteran.
- Provide information to the providers (factsheets, medication list, medical records), and assist with vital signs (weight, height, blood pressure) as needed.
- Document and update system comments regarding the Veteran appointment.
- Perform all job functions in compliance with HIPAA policies and adhere to local and externally relevant health and safety laws and policies.
- Work with Domestic Travel Team on route creation and trip timelines.
- Must have an excellent driving record without any serious driving violations for the last five (5) years.
- Due to insurance requirements, driver must be a minimum of 25 years to operate company vehicles
- Must be willing and able to travel out of state with overnight stays along clinic routes
- Must be willing and able to work weekends as required
- Valid driver's license is required
- Must be willing and able to lift, move or carry materials weighing up to 50lbs
- Residence near an airport for travel purposes preferred
- Proficiency with software such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, & general internet search
- Keeps current on weather forecast, routing, roadwork, or any other event likely to impact the punctuality or safety of transporting the mobile unit and appropriately reports concerns in a timely way to stakeholders
- Follows all company policies regarding safety and upkeep of conditions/equipment and adheres to local and externally relevant health and safety laws and policies
- Facilitates the check-in/check-out process and manages sign in sheet
- Greets each Veteran immediately and gathers medical records or diagnostic results
- Documents and updates system comments for services pertaining to Veterans and providers
- Keeps all Veterans' information private and confidential
- Communicates in a courteous and respectful manner while assisting in any way needed
- Communicates and assists other departments in a collaborative effort to expedite cases
- Adapts to new instructions, requests or procedures maintaining a high sense of urgency
Home Office Requirements Using Maximus-Provided Equipment:

- Must currently and permanently reside in the Continental US
- In accordance with SCA contract requirements, remote work must be conducted from the location specified at the time of hire. Unapproved travel is not permitted, and you are required to remain at your designated home location for all work activities.
