Job Summary
We are looking for individuals to join our client's team as Patient Care Associate -Med/Surg. You will be working under the direction of a licensed nurse or other medical staff to provide patients with care and support. PCAs perform venipuncture, finger-sticks, HIV Pre and Post Test Counseling, Rapid HIV Testing, responding and assisting with emergencies, facilitating telehealth encounters, and various clerical and health-related duties associated with patient care, ADLs, and contributing to the safety, care, and comfort of patients.
Job Description
- Facilitate Telehealth encounters as needed.
- Administer total care (bed bath, partial or complete).
- Assist with patient's hygiene - including skin care, mouth care, shaving, etc.
- Transfers patients - in and out of bed, stretcher, and wheelchair.
- Positions patients and carry out a range of motion exercise.
- Prepare patients for meals and assist with feeding as needed.
- Assists with unit patient admissions and transfers.
- Measures & records patients' vital signs (such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, etc.) in the electronic health record.
- Perform EKGs as required and follow outlined procedures for submitting abnormal EKGs.
- Perform dry sterile dressing changes and assist with other patient treatment.
- Administers hot and cold applications to patients under supervision.
- Perform blood draws and urine testing.
- Chaperone staff in all clinical areas when requested.
- Perform tasks consistent with the PCA job description.
- Responding to/addressing medical emergencies, such as falls, heart attacks, strokes, burns, and recovering post-operative patients.
- Provide clinically appropriate care as directed by the Registered Nurse and/or Physician.
- When clinically indicated, provide care, such as CPR, AED, prevent shock, control severe bleeding, prevent spinal damage, etc.
- Monitor patients' condition and keep them stable enroute to the clinic.
- Aid in preparing patients for transfer to emergency units or hospitals.
- Document the medical treatment that is given to the patient.
- Keep the equipment clean after use; check and replace damaged and used supplies.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy to replenish supplies.
- 2 years of Med/Surg experience required
- Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds.

We also help keep NYC communities safe and rescue animals in need, responding to emergencies that involve animals as well as keeping our doors open 24/7 for people and animals in need.
Summary
Under the direction of a Veterinarian or Licensed Veterinary Technician, the Patient Care Specialist will assist in the provision of compassionate care for convalescing animals who are injured, ill or recovering from surgery by tending to the animal's basic needs including feeding, walking, cleaning and socializing. It is important to notice little changes in the animal's behavior, appetite and comfort level and alert the Veterinary Team to the observed concerns. They provide direct assistance with physical examinations from retrieval of the animal to basic restraint.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Six months of previous animal handling experience required- i.e. dog walking, animal husbandry, grooming, measuring vital signs, restraining aggressive animals.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, often high stress environment, treats animals and people with respect, has attention to detail and a strong work ethic to complete tasks correctly.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work standing for 8 hours or more.

Essential Job Functions :
- Maintain a high standard of animal care and welfare, which includes providing scheduled feedings, clean water at all times, proper bedding and enrichment toys.
- Take the patient's vital signs: temperature, pulse and respirations, as directed by the doctor, and document normal and unusual behavior, signs of illness and any injury of an animal on a daily basis.
- Restrain, confine, handle animals, including those which are ill, injured, quarantined, and aggressive in a manner that is safe for both pet and staff

DaVita Kidney Care, is bringing our industry-leading clinical quality to patients on-site at skilled nursing facilities (SNF) through a new team called DaVita Skilled Nursing Dialysis Services. Approximately 10% of all dialysis patients reside in a SNF and are transported to dialysis three times a week placing a significant burden on patients and adding significant avoidable costs to the health care system. DSD Services teammates will have access to all the capabilities and resources DaVita has to offer, and will work to quickly leverage these to develop the infrastructure and rapidly grow the new service line. In this role, you take responsibility for the complete ongoing care of each patient to ensure their dialysis treatment stays on track. Job Summary
The Patient Care Technician in the Urology Department plays a vital role in providing support and assistance to healthcare providers and ensuring smooth operations within the department. This position involves performing various clinical and administrative tasks, managing patient testing, coordinating appointments, and maintaining inventory. The Patient Care Technician is expected to demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Patient Testing Assistance:
- Assist healthcare providers with all in-house patient testing, including but not limited to urine analysis, bladder scans, and other diagnostic procedures.
- Prepare lab specimens for pick up, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
- Perform accurate and timely collection of patient vital signs, recording and documenting the information appropriately.
- Assist with patient assessment and provide support during procedures as needed.
- Assist in administrative billing tasks using the Admin NOT CLINICAL PARCS system, ensuring accurate and timely submission of patient billing information of all visits within the department
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling sensitive patient data.
- Proactively recall patients with abnormal lab results or diagnostic findings, ensuring timely communication and follow-up.
- Schedule appointments for patients with pending results or those in need of further procedures, coordinating with healthcare providers and other departments as necessary.
- Manage the inventory of supplies, equipment, and materials required for the Urology Department.
- Receive and organize incoming items, ensuring proper storage, and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
- Conduct appointment confirmation calls with patients, providing necessary instructions and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Assist with appointment scheduling, maintaining an organized and efficient calendar to ensure optimal patient flow.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional healthcare-related certifications or training is a plus. EKG and phlebotomy certificate.
- Proven experience as a Patient Care Technician or similar role in a medical setting, preferably within a urology department.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols related to urology.
- Proficient in conducting patient vitals and assessments, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with administrative billing systems and procedures, preferably PARCS or similar systems.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear instructions to patients and collaborate effectively with healthcare providers and colleagues.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accuracy in documentation and record-keeping.
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with scheduling software, electronic medical records, and Microsoft Office Suite.
