CDM Smith is seeking a Senior IT Asset Management Specialist to lead and manage all aspects of the software lifecycle, including sourcing, procurement, planning, budgeting, compliance, and auditing. In this role, you'll play a key part in shaping how our organization sources, manages, and optimizes IT software and services. You'll work closely with vendors, negotiate contracts that deliver both value and performance, and ensure our teams have the technology they need to succeed.
The successful final candidate will:
- Drive vendor partnerships: Source quotes, evaluate proposals, negotiate agreements, and place purchase orders for a wide range of IT software and services.
- Keep us running efficiently: Maintain and update IT asset management databases, procurement tools, and compliance systems to ensure accurate, real-time visibility.
- Forecast and optimize costs: Analyze trends, anticipate future IT needs, and develop budget forecasts that help us stay ahead of demand while avoiding overspend. Prepare reports and perform analysis to proactively identify savings and improvements.
- Provide insights that matter: Report on utilization, explain budget variances, and present forecasts to key stakeholders across the organization.
- Ensure compliance & reliability: Conduct audits on software licenses, take corrective actions, and manage agreement renewals to secure the best pricing and service levels.
- Lead and mentor: Organize departmental projects, delegate tasks, evaluate outcomes, and provide day-to-day guidance and training to team members.
- Explore and recommend: Research emerging IT products and services, meet with vendors, evaluate offerings, and recommend the best solutions to support our mission. Develop and implement continuous process improvements and operational efficiencies.
