This role requires a hybrid work arrangement? At Wipfli, hybrid is defined as associates regularly work in a Wipfli office, from home and at client sites? The client sites can vary locally, regionally, or nationally depending on the industry alignment?Note that scheduled meetings at the client and in the office will require in-person attendance.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
+ Audit financial statements, quarterly financial information, and clients' annual reports.
+ Take part in pre-audit planning to assess the risk of material misstatement of financial accounts to design effective audit procedures.
+ Identify accounting and audit issues and perform research to solve issues.
+ Responsible for testing internal controls, policies, and procedures and making recommendations.
+ Perform audits under Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) auditing standards, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
+ Proactively build relationships and communicate with clients and associates.
+ Teach, train, and develop incoming staff/interns.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required. Must meet the educational requirements to sit for the CPA exam.
+ CPA certification preferred. Candidates actively pursuing CPA certification will be considered
+ Requires at 1-3 years of accounting related experience.
+ Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work effectively on multiple tasks.
+ Adaptable to various levels of client complexities of people, processes, and systems.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Ability to travel to client sites up to 50%

What Youll Do
FPIS is looking for a Client Tax Associate to assist with our expanding Tax Services practice. Specific emphasis is being placed on candidates with previous financial services and tax experience ideally. You will report to the Tax Manager. This position will comply with taxation requirements by preparing and filing tax documents; complying with tax regulations; and maintaining tax records.
- Communicate with team members and clients to provide a high level of service, transparency and empathy to clients and beneficiaries
- Prepare personal federal and state income tax returns
- Strong analytical skills and problem solver
- Supporting the Advisors in tax planning
- Research tax issues as needed
- Maintain tax files
- Prepare amendments, extended returns, prepare tax estimates and projections, and assist in creating and implementing tax plans for clients
- Integrate accounting and finance principles and practices to help maximize client benefits
- Help implement best practices and staying compliant with regulatory environment Calculate cost basis and analyze tax implications of certain investments
- Assist financial analysts in generating reports
What Youll Bring
- CPA or EA (enrolled agent) completed or willingness to pursue
- 2+ years of personal income tax preparation experience
- Experience with tax research, planning, and probate process
- Capable of conveying information fluently in both oral and written formats
- Proficient in computer systems with a proven capacity for quickly mastering new software
- Takes initiatives
- Proven record in handling sensitive information
- Demonstrate skill in producing accurate and compliant tax forms
- Foster teamwork, solution-oriented thinking, and knowledge sharing with team members to enhance service delivery
