MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the daily scheduling of warehouse personnel to ensure proper manning in order to ship and receive products at the store in a productive and cost-efficient manner
  • Direct the day-to day activities of the warehouse. Such activities include shipping, receiving, maintenance, inventory control, etc.
  • Responsible for the warehouse as it pertains to Storage Buy transactions, receiving errors, and staging of products
  • Responsible for maintenance of warehouse equipment, providing both preventive maintenance programs and communicating all necessary repairs to CEM and/or Operations Manager. Ensure that the warehouse personnel have safe, efficient equipment in order to perform the distribution functions
  • Responsible for warehouse safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for employees and within the regulations of all OSHA local and state regulations
  • Ensure all associates are trained and following all standard operating procedures
  • Responsible for the progressive disciplinary process in the area of counseling, oral and written warnings; ensures a productive labor climate in the warehouse operation
  • Handle general employee inquiries and solves problems
  • Coordinate with other departments to facilitate efficient warehouse operations
  • Complete necessary Activity Reports for management
  • Monitor the flow of paperwork from Receiving to Inventory Control Specialist for timely data entry

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
  • 1-3 years of previous supervisory experience required (preferably in a warehouse or distribution center environment)

  • Ability to work with and maintain effective working relationships with other departments in the company
  • Effective communication skills (oral and written)
  • Competent in performing basic mathematical calculations

Overview

The Operations Supervisor is responsible performance management and professional development of the Operations team. The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for training and developing employees, assigning work to others, and acting as a resource to the employees. Additionally, this role involves managing relationships with service providers and partners throughout the globe, being the liaison for vendors to manage shipment bookings, ensuring timely transfers from logistics providers' warehouses and onward to final destinations, as appropriate. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the Operations and Service level of the logistics operations by providing cost effective, efficient and traceable movement of AIT's products both in-bound and out-bound
  • Supervise all staff directly or through supervision through team coaching on performance, job assignments, coaching, training, etc
  • Arrange product pickups and deliveries with transportation companies and route drivers accordingly
  • Actively communicate and build strong partnerships with trucking companies, internal/external customers, customs brokers, sales forces and vendors. Including but not limited to: receiving shipping quotes and deciding on the best carriers based on cost, availability and reliability
  • Tend to customer needs by analyzing and researching orders. Ensure that lowest cost transportation is used to satisfy both customer and AIT's needs.
  • Supervise daily routes/schedules of shipments and deliveries, track progress of shipments and manager cartage set up of operations over the weekend
  • Ability to administer and supervise; exercise judgement in appraising situation and making decisions to staff management
  • Ability to tailor communication (both written and verbal) according to appropriate audience
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and vendors
  • Demonstrate leadership through work ethic and high performance
  • Ensure safe working environment through consistent practice of safety programs and procedures
