Purpose

The Supply Chain Supervisor will oversee the entire end-to-end supply chain process—including procurement, production planning, inventory management, logistics, and distribution—to ensure materials and products are delivered on time, in full, and at the most cost-effective rates. This role requires strong analytical skills, vendor management expertise, and a proven track record of achieving measurable cost savings while maintaining quality and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Execution

• Develop and execute supply chain strategies to meet business goals, including OTIF (On Time In Full) and SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) targets.
• Forecast demand and manage inventory levels using Min/Max controls for all SKUs to maintain optimal stock availability.
• Maintain and track inventory in Microsoft NAV; generate regular reports on raw materials and finished goods.
• Monitor and analyze Days on Hand (DOH) for both finished goods and raw materials, identifying trends to improve inventory management and reduce waste.

Procurement & Vendor Management

• Source and manage suppliers to ensure timely, cost-effective procurement of materials.
• Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships to secure reliable supply and favorable pricing and terms.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives by obtaining multiple quotes and leveraging competitive pricing opportunities.
• Achieve annual cost savings of at least $75,000 through strategic purchasing.
• Negotiate contracts and service-level agreements with at least five key vendors to secure favorable pricing and terms.

Logistics & Distribution

• Oversee transportation, warehousing, and order fulfillment operations to meet OTIF targets.
• Optimize shipping routes, schedules, and carrier selection to reduce freight spend by $20,000 annually without compromising delivery performance.

Inventory & Production Planning

• Maintain accurate inventory levels to meet production and sales demand while minimizing excess.
• Create production schedules based on sales forecasts and current inventory; collaborate closely with manufacturing teams to ensure alignment.

Data & Reporting

• Monitor KPIs such as OTIF, inventory turnover, DOH, supplier performance, forecast accuracy, and order fulfillment accuracy.
• Identify trends, risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement.

Compliance & Quality

• Ensure all supply chain activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with quality teams to quickly address supplier or product quality concerns.

Required Qualifications

Supply Chain knowledge :

• Experience and knowledge across the various functions/processes of a manufacturing business (e.g., Sales, Operations, Finance). 

ERP & EDI knowledge :

• Experience and knowledge in maintaining/supporting ERP systems to maximize business value, including delivering reports/analytics to improve decision-making.

Technical knowledge :

• Knowledge/experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications, Active Directory, File systems, Windows Server, SQL, etc.

Continuous Improvement :

• Proven track record of adding value to a business via process improvement and leveraging technology. 

Analytical/Problem-Solving skills :

• Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root-cause issues, and design cost-effective solutions. 

Communication skills :

• Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels. 

Resourcefulness :

• Ability to operate as a leader/doer, “rolling up sleeves” to fully leverage own skills as well as collaboratively leveraging every person in the organization.

Education, Training, and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
• Minimum five years of business process improvement and ERP experience (ideally with NAV).
• Experience in the Food Processing/Manufacturing industry preferred

Position Summary:

The Supply Chain Manager 1 is responsible to provide tactical direction and leadership to ensure customer requirements are met. Responsible for day-to-day execution of all account activities. Monitors carrier performance to optimize value delivered to the customer. Quickly resolve any operations issues to eliminate production loss or transportation service failures & communicate with customer.

Major Responsibilities:

Responsible for all parts control and/or load control center activities. Often requires daily analysis of customer transportation needs. Responsible to monitor the carrier and / or supplier bases to ensure customer demand is being met in a timely manner. Develop action plans to address issues affecting supply chain network.

Seek internal operating efficiencies through process / system improvements. Reduced cycle time and/or cost of operations. Identify new business opportunities, work with SAE to expand service offerings. Identify and deploy continuous improvement (AC/FC).

Conduct performance review, corrective action, and goal setting for team of salaried and hourly employees. Provide career development, mentoring, and promotional opportunities to direct reports to create future leaders. Deploy and maintain staffing and development strategies. PCM, CDP, succession planning of all positions.

Responsible for the formalization of comprehensive project plans, clarifying timelines, milestones, goals and ownership. Intervene when necessary to resolve issues between project managers, operations, functional teams and customers. Work closely with customer's leadership and project team during scope development and option analysis phase.

Understand how customer, supplier and vendor fleets work together and affect overall supply chain performance. Recommend vendors and suppliers necessary to deploy logistics solution. Create and foster a relationship with the customer's logistics manager to facilitate operational stability. Manage the clients' expectations regarding our team's satisfactory performance & service execution. Work closely with customer's leadership and project team during scope development and option analysis phase.

Review operating metrics and fix out-of-tolerance results. Communicating all progress on a set cadence with customer and up through Penske covering KPI's and continuous improvement initiatives. Thoroughly review account budget for accuracy and report inconsistencies and analysis. Identify issues and resolve with leadership. Continually evaluate account to assess whether deliverable will meet customer's needs at the contractual rates.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Bachelor's degree preferred with a concentration in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or equivalent

3 years of functional experience in multiple supply chain service lines (transportation, warehousing, LLP, etc) required

2 years of supervisory or equivalent experience

Experience with root cause analysis preferred

Must be able to identify interim solutions or containment action plans that have overall network implications

Strategic direction of location, aligning local customer expectations with Statement of Work.

Must be able to ensure succession planning of key positions, deployment of staffing model and developing future leaders.

Ability to manage multiple projects with a sense of urgency while maintaining a high degree of accuracy

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Working knowledge of financial management (P&L experience preferred).

Strong problem solving skills.

Strong analytical and presentation skills, written/oral communication and organizational skills required.

Must have a strong understanding of operations and supporting technology, especially web based applications

Must have a successful track record of building relationships with stakeholders or customers that have resulted in high customer satisfaction

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Program Manager to develop, lead, and manage strategic supply chain initiatives for our Services & Solutions Supply Chain team. This role, reporting to the Manager, S&S Program Management, requires a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects, while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills, along with a deep understanding of supply chain management principles and best practices.

• Develop the global supply chain strategy to achieve desired business outcomes and functional objectives, providing direction and insights to stakeholders and supply chain leadership on the execution of supply chain strategy in order to achieve optimal outcomes across all stakeholders.
• Define program scope, objectives, and deliverables for supply chain initiatives, including but not limited to: supplier relationship management (SRM), procurement optimization, inventory management, operational improvements, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Develop and manage detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk assessments. Provide regular status reports to senior management, highlighting progress, challenges, and mitigation plans.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects, prioritizing tasks and resources effectively to meet deadlines and achieve program objectives.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across different departments, including planning, sourcing, operations, logistics, customer care, engineering, finance, IT, and the business unit.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, the business unit, and supply chain teams.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration among project team members, ensuring clear communication channels and regular updates.
