Supply Chain Manager

Eaton's Aerospace Interconnect division is currently seeking a Supply Chain Manager. The expected annual salary range for this role is $125,062.47 - $95,000.00 a year. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

The SCM within Eaton's growing Aerospace Interconnect division is responsible for managing key supply chain related functions such as materials planning, scheduling and ordering activities associated with the delivery of specific customer products, direct and indirect material purchasing, inventory control and warehousing, shipping and receiving. Manages and directs supply chain personnel in the procurement, receipt, disbursement, and inventory control of material to ensure on-time delivery of customer orders while maintaining assigned inventory levels. Is expected to train and educate direct reports on the use of supply chain management techniques, various business systems, varieties of reports and other related tools to ensure timely and economical completion of customer requirements.

The essential functions of this position include the following:

  • Manage and direct supply chain personnel in the planning, scheduling, procurement, and inventory control of material to ensure on-time delivery of customer orders while maintaining assigned inventory levels
  • Manage current and future demand requirements with manufacturing and supplier capabilities/capacities to ensure completion of customer requirements
  • Ownership of the Production Plan from S&OP monthly process derived from the sales forecast
  • Establish with team standard work and attainment of SCM KPIs
  • Work with corporate commodity teams on supplier performance and cost out programs
  • Serve as member of the plant's senior management team and provides leadership and support for all local, division and corporate initiatives and objectives
  • Analyze data, including enterprise requirements planning information and prepares consolidated managerial reports as needed to facilitate and recommend actions to ensure plant/product line optimal Supply Chain execution
  • Ensure correct planning parameters and transaction disciplines are utilized in order execution systems (SAP) to ensure proper order generation and inventory balances
  • Manage material cost and schedule impact of proposed engineering changes in addition to taking necessary action to ensure successful implementation and incorporation of approved engineering releases
  • Meet or exceed key metrics of days on hand, gross inventory, plant and supplier on-time delivery, days payable outstanding, cost savings, cycle count accuracy, supplier invoice on-hold metrics, and profit plan/budget forecasts. Manages inventory levels in order to meet established inventory & Day-on-Hand targets
  • Ensure the accuracy of physical inventory to assure the timely fulfillment of customer orders while maintaining inventory levels that are beneficial to the overall operation of the company
  • Foster an environment that promotes Eaton's vision, encourages continuous improvement while aligning with supply chain functional requirements (i.e. Materials Management Assessment)
  • Support SCM strategic initiatives and helps to lead related functional SCM/OpA assessments
  • Support SCM organizational capabilities and bench strength through functional excellence, training and coaching
  • This role must report on-site daily 8am - 5pm at our Camarillo, CA facility. Relocation is available for qualified candidates currently residing in the USA.
  • Bonus - For the selected hired candidate (not requiring relocation package), Eaton will provide a 15K hiring bonus to be distributed after starting in the new role. Candidate can use the bonus at their discretion. Internal Eaton employees are not eligible for the bonus.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 4 years Supply Chain experience in a manufacturing or operations environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of related professional and supervisory/managerial experience.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Qualifications:

  • Skills & Proficiency:
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics , GP , or equivalent ERP systems.
    • Expertise in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions such as pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.) and database management.
    • Proven ability in data mining and experience in database conversions is a plus.
    • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • In-depth understanding of procurement, logistics, and inventory management processes.
  • Certifications: Supply Chain certifications (e.g., APICS , ISM ) are a plus.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with ISO 13485 , FDA regulations, and good manufacturing practices (GMP).

Responsibilities
  • Analyze production requirements and generate accurate and timely purchase orders (POs) with approved suppliers.
  • Enter and maintain PO data within the ERP system; confirm and communicate PO details with suppliers.
  • Ensure detailed and accurate communication to internal stakeholders on any pertinent changes and proposed solutions for product orders.
  •  Expedite open orders to ensure on-time delivery and prevent material shortages.
  •  Review supplier acknowledgments for accuracy, resolving discrepancies as needed.
  •  Obtain and evaluate supplier quotes, product specifications, and pricing for new and existing items.
  •  Support RFP projects by preparing cost estimates and negotiating competitive pricing and lead times.
  • Place emergency or expedited orders as needed to maintain operational flow.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to address product quality, specification issues, or delivery concerns.
  • Issue debit memos and resolve invoice discrepancies in coordination with Accounts Payable and suppliers.
  • Generate procurement and supplier performance reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain productive supplier relationships to support ongoing cost and service improvements.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, and Quality to support sourcing and inventory objectives.
  • Perform other procurement and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent coursework in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Purchasing/Procurement, or a 2-year degree in a business-related field (preferred). 
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in purchasing, procurement, or materials management.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of engineering drawings, Bill of Materials and procurement processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage supplier interactions.
  • Ability to analyze data, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.

Physical Requirements

  • A typical office environment with prolonged sitting, use of a computer, and light lifting (up to 25 lbs.). Occasional visits to production or warehouse areas may be required.

Work Environment

  • Based in a general office setting with collaboration across production and supply chain teams. May involve periodic interaction with manufacturing or supplier partners onsite.
