Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Helpdesk Support Specialist to join our IT support team. This role is responsible for providing first-level technical assistance to internal users and clients. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and a passion for delivering timely and effective technical support.
+ Serve as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance via phone, email, chat, or ticketing system.
+ Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and system issues on Windows/macOS platforms.
+ Install, configure, and maintain desktop systems, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other IT hardware.
+ Escalate unresolved issues to higher-level support teams and follow up to ensure resolution.
+ Document all support activities, solutions, and user interactions in the helpdesk ticketing system.
+ Assist with user account management, password resets, and access control in Active Directory, Microsoft 365, etc.
+ Provide support for remote users using VPN and remote access tools.
+ Participate in onboarding of new employees by setting up workstations and user profiles.
+ Create and maintain knowledge base articles and user guides for common issues.
+ Monitor helpdesk queues and respond to support tickets in a timely manner according to SLA guidelines.
Requirements
+ Associate or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
+ 1+ years of experience in a technical support or helpdesk role.
+ Working knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic networking concepts.
+ Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., Zendesk, ServiceNow, Freshdesk).
+ Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
+ Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE

The Information Technology Support Specialist provides hardware and software support for stand-alone and LAN PC users, including upgrades, installation, troubleshooting and maintenance. The IT Support Specialist supports both Corporate headquarters, and various program locations, as directed. This is an on-site position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Installs components, analyzes and diagnoses problems and repairs systems

  • Assists to plan and maintain computer infrastructure for office and classroom systems

  • Works with Corporate IT Operations Manager to implement new hardware/software applications

  • Maintains currency on software applications, expert on IT systems in use at VOALA

Vast is looking for an IT Support Specialist , reporting to the Manager, IT , for providing day-to-day technical support to Vast's internal employees and making sure systems run smoothly. You will be the first point of contact for users experiencing technical issues, providing timely and efficient solutions to their problems. Your expertise in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and exceptional customer service will be key to your success in this role.

This is a full-time, non-exempt , in-person position in our Long Beach location.

Responsibilities:

  • Exhibits excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve difficult technical issues with limited information
  • Provide help desk support and resolve problems to the end user's satisfaction
  • Maintains and supports enterprise resources, including laptops, desktops, tablets, mobile phones and other network enabled devices
  • Monitor, respond and resolve incidents in an ITSM system while ensuring SLA performance metrics are met. Ex: Jira SM, ZenDesk
  • Strong troubleshooting of Windows 10/11 operating system
  • Strong troubleshooting of MacOS
  • Some understanding of Active Directory or LDAP
  • Comfortable replacing hard drives, memory and other computer components
  • Onboarding/ offboarding users
  • Perform timely workstation hardware and software upgrades as required
  • Provide support for multiple locations
  • Installing, moving, equipment that may weigh up to 50 lbs
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in IT
  • Proven experience with ITSM tools
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Familiarity with aerospace industry regulations and standards regarding IT and data
Pay Range:
