About the Role:

CBRE is looking to hire a Sustainability Consultant to join our Americas Sustainability Consulting team as a technical resource. The primary focus of this position will be third-party certification management with capacity for expansion across the ESG landscape, decarbonization, and other real estate driven sustainability initiatives. The successful candidate will assist with all aspects of project work related to sustainability and wellness rating systems and -building certifications projects. We are seeking highly qualified candidates from all over the country, as this position will be remote. The ideal candidate should be a self-motivated and accountable individual, capable of working independently.

The ideal Candidate should have solid experience in ESG, advisory and certification, Whole Life Carbon and Circular Economy, Health & Wellbeing, and Environmental Impact Assessments. They should be capable of developing and implementing ESG Strategies, creating tailored sustainability frameworks for asset application, and delivering certification and health and wellbeing services.

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct audits and facilitate building certification projects (BREEAM, LEED, WELL)

  • Evaluate, track, and report the status of LEED, WELL, and other third-party certification projects from concept through construction and manage documentation, including reviewer comments. Ensure that all tasks are completed per the project schedule and plan, allowing for quality control and feedback to be incorporated into the process

  • Communicate sustainability requirements and obligations to other team members, both internal and external. Interface directly with clients to report ongoing project status and next steps.

  • Manage multiple projects independently, under the guidance of senior teammates; and support senior teammates on complex projects.

  • Interrogate large internal or external databases, such as Measurabl, to collate data sets for use in key client reports, e.g., annual and quarterly ESG reports, responding to investor queries, bespoke KPI progress reports.

  • Create the initial draft of these reports specifically-providing a narrative summary of key actions and findings, verifying the accuracy and quality of data used, and ensuring that the document meets all necessary reporting requirements, e.g., client branding.

  • Identify strategies and solutions for clients that improve the performance and sustainability of the built environment and develop project-appropriate sustainability and/or health and wellbeing strategies.

  • Manage and analyze environmental performance data including energy, water, and waste utility consumption and costs; benchmark performance; and monitor and interpret performance trends.

  • Independently manage your time to stay on track with billable activities within project budgets, time allocations, and prioritization.

  • Participate in monthly invoicing and financial projections for all project-related work.

  • Exercise judgment and self-prioritize assignments daily, identifying and communicating issues before they become problems.

  • Exhibit strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail.

  • Desire and ability to integrate CBRE initiatives, services, products, and research into cohesive solutions that allow clients to materially advance their sustainability goals.

The successful candidate will be a key part of the Global Energy, Sustainability and Automation (GESA) team and will be responsible for the execution planning, communication, and tracking of Sustainability initiatives to drive buildings-focused decarbonization, energy efficiency, and resource positivity (waste, water, biodiversity) for the First (CF), Middle (ATS), and/or Last (AMZL) Mile business units (BU). This team in GESA supports Amazon operations sites in North and South America with occasional support for international regions. The Sustainability Program Manager's focus will be to ensure connectivity between BU sustainability strategies and the implementation by GESA execution teams, foster thought leadership, and enhance data transparency and communications. This opportunity combines technical construction engineering disciplines, program planning, project management, energy management, and contract management. It requires a person who can demonstrate proven ability in planning, design, and project management, as well as experience in managing sustainability requirements for both new and existing buildings (ideally in the industrial or logistics sectors). Participation during a previous new warehouse launch at Amazon would be desired. The role will be based in the US (Nashville, TN; Arlington, VA; Austin, TX; and Bellevue, WA are preferred locations) with 40% of time traveling either domestically or internationally to countries including but not limited to Mexico and Brazil. Construction knowledge and experience of sustainability practices is essential.
Scope of Energy & Sustainability Program Manager:
-Work with stakeholder teams including Operations Business Unit (CF, ATS, AMZL) Sustainability teams, Engineering, Procurement, RME, IT and others to develop, prioritize, and create execution plans for Sustainability initiatives in New Launches.
-Drive the construction ideation, scoping, and design phase of sustainability inclusions into new buildings as either low-carbon materials, specification updates, or data collection processes.
-Develop a strong understanding of the CF, ATS, and AMZL Design Standards and Design Criteria, and coordinate technical and standards review with the Design and Construction Technology Team, Global Sustainable Development, and other primary stakeholder teams.
-Supporting Construction and Pre-Construction Managers as an SME on Sustainability initiative implementation and tracking and in representing GES/D&C in Sustainability tender/scope of work conversations with GC/Developers.
-Support lease renewals by driving landlord contributions for energy efficiency-focused retrofit enhancements.
-Support Amazon operations energy management initiatives in scoping, implementing and verification of energy water and sustainability initiatives.
Key job responsibilities
-Oversee construction engineering, planning, and design for Sustainability inclusions into new buildings.
-Track carbon footprint of new launches, perform engineering calculations when comparing design alternates, reviewing material/equipment specifications to assess energy usage, efficiency, carbon footprint impact, payback, etc.
-Maintain a program-level view to be able to drive decisions and direction while remaining informed about site-level progress.

Software Development Engineer, Mechatronics & Sustainable Packaging Job ID: 2922235 | Amazon.com Services LLC The Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging Experiences software team is seeking technically skilled and curious engineers to join our diverse, full-stack team. As an SDE, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying intelligent packaging deterministic workflows, LLM/ML powered platforms, and large-scale solutions for our world-wide customer base. You will collaborate closely with a cross-functional team of product leaders, principals, and ML scientists to influence our overall packaging roadmap to support Climate Pledge and Sustainability goals, reduce waste and cost, and help define our technical strategy. You will also drive the system architecture, spearhead best practices that enable quality, and help coach and develop junior engineers. A successful candidate will have an established background in engineering large scale software systems, strong technical ability, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. In addition to holistically designing, building, and delivering end-to-end software systems, our team is responsible for core infrastructure, production services and tools that serve as the backbone of our packaging engines, and applications that support packaging test labs, Fulfillment Centers and field personnel. Key Job Responsibilities We are seeking a software engineer to be part of our team to build Packaging Technology Workflows and Optimization with Machine Learning (ML) on a global scale, own their systems end to end, and influence the direction of technology used by all Amazon Fulfillment and Packaging services around the world. In this role, you will have the opportunity to drive mission critical projects, work with senior and principal engineers, and lead team members. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience Experience programming with at least one software programming language PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
