We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Federal Income Tax Manager to join our collaborative global Tax Team. This hands-on leadership role will oversee all aspects of compliance and reporting of U.S. federal income tax for our expanding business operations. Youll be a key player in leading Federal tax calculations and analysis for tax provision and tax returns, ensuring timely and accurate filing and payment of all Federal income tax obligations, leading process improvements throughout the Federal compliance and reporting life cycle, and partnering across Finance, Legal, Technology, and cross-functional Tax teams. Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the preparation and review of federal income tax returns, including complex consolidated filings (Subchapter C).
  • Oversee quarterly and annual federal provision calculations under ASC 740, including return-to-provision analysis and book-tax difference calculations.
  • Coordinate and manage all federal tax estimates, extensions, and payments.
  • Coordinate with outside tax consultants and contractors for various federal tax compliance and reporting projects.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable U.S. federal tax law and reporting requirements, including Corporate Alternative Minimum Tax ("CAMT"), R&D credit reporting.
  • Maintain accuracy and completeness of all federal tax workpapers and document return positions.
  • Lead post-acquisition federal tax integration and compliance, as applicable.
  • Support tax technology, USGAAP accounting, and tax planning teams on U.S. federal tax computations and requirements.
Audit & Advisory
  • Support IRS audits, including management of information requests and coordination with internal teams and external advisors.
  • Monitor and analyze legislative changes and assess their impact on the companys tax compliance requirements.
  • Research complex federal tax issues and prepare technical documentation and recommendations.
  • Provide internal tax advisory support and collaborate on cross-functional initiatives and tax planning projects.
Team Leadership & Process Improvement
  • Manage one Tax Analyst and coach, mentor, and develop talent.
  • Drive standardization and automation of tax compliance processes; partner with tax technology teams to improve federal reporting and compliance tools.
  • Collaborate across Accounting, Finance, Legal, and Operations to align Federal tax reporting and compliance with business objectives.
  • Champion a high-performing, inclusive team culture focused on quality, innovation, and accountability.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or Masters in Tax preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive corporate tax experience, including both Big 4 public accounting and in-house roles.
  • Deep technical knowledge of U.S. corporate tax, and consolidated return regulations.
  • Strong understanding of ASC 740.
  • Strong understanding of federal tax laws, including corporate, partnership, and international tax regimes.
  • Proven experience managing federal tax compliance for public companies, including utilizing systems and software such as Thompson Reuters OneSource, Workday, Excel, Alteryx etc.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and manage competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements, manage audits, and navigate complex tax scenarios in a dynamic environment.
  • Excel at managing multiple deadlines and coordinating complex processes.
  • Have strong attention to detail while maintaining big-picture awareness.

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $160,000-470,000. Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off. As a member of the National Tax Accounting Methods team, you will consult with clients and tax team members from across the firm on the timing of income and expense recognition, capitalization and cost recovery, inventory tax accounting, and accounting periods. + Familiarity with research software and comfortable working with the Internal Revenue Code, Treasury regulations, and other tax authorities
+ Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy in ambiguous circumstances

CohnReznick is a hybrid firm and most of our professionals are located within a commutable distance to one of our offices. This position is considered remote which means it does not require job duties be performed within proximity of a CohnReznick office location. YOUR ROLE.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Preparation and review of 990 and 990-PF tax returns
  • Preparation and review of some 5500 tax returns
  • Leading and managing a team of high-performing tax individuals
YOUR EXPERIENCE.

The successful candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's in Tax is a plus
  • CPA, LLM or JD is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive tax experience
  • Strong tax research skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation (verbal and written) skills, as well as exceptional client service skills
  • Proven competence with MS Office and tax compliance and research software, including ProSystem, BNA portfolio and projection, CCH Axcess and RIA
