The Halbert and Nancy Robinson Center for Young Scholars offers enrichment courses through the Saturday Enrichment Program for students currently in grades K-8. These classes are intended to provide intellectually ambitious students with challenge, inspiration, and fun, in a collaborative, supportive learning environment.
The Robinson Center (RC) seeks a temporary, hourly teaching aide to support the Enrichment Saturday programming during Fall through Spring quarters. Each quarter runs for 8 weeks on Saturday mornings, and TAs will assist classroom teachers with a variety of tasks related to instruction and student supervision up to 3 hour-long courses a day (9 AM to 12 PM). TAs are expected to arrive up to 30 minutes before their first scheduled course and be prepared to stay up to 30 minutes after the final course. The Saturday TA is also required to attend all orientation and professional development training.
Under the supervision of the Enrichment Director, the Saturday TAs report to the Enrichment Program Manager in terms of course assignments and other related tasks, and work directly with instructors during class time. They are responsible for recording their hours bi-monthly in Workday.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** Instructional Support 100%:
Maintaining a safe and inclusive classroom environment for a diverse population of students;
+ Escorting students between campus locations during class change and generally monitoring student safety;
+ Taking attendance and promptly communicating with the Program Manager about student absences;
+ Facilitating classroom activities;
+ Documenting student work;
+ Assisting course instructors with daily set up and break down of classrooms and supplies;

**DEPARTMENT HIGHLIGHTS**
The Cardiothoracic Surgery Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a member of the Cardiothoracic Surgery ICU multidisciplinary team that includes physicians, residents, fellows, and RNs providing intensive care services to patients and families. The CTICU APP team provides 24/7 care for critically ill cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical patients in a fast paced, high acuity unit including the care of ECMO patients and patients with mechanical circulatory support devices.
**POSITION HIGHLIGHTS**
+ The successful candidate will be responsible for providing independent and collaborative patient management from admission to the CTICU through transfer of care to the acute care setting.
+ This position provides a faculty appointment at the rank of Teaching Associate in the Department of Surgery, with an anticipated start date in Winter 2024/2025.
+ Teaching Associates hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms.
+ Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.
+ The base salary range for this position will be: 10,326 - 15,391 per month ( 123,912 - 184,692 annually) commensurate with years of experience as a licensed ARNP or PA , or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. + Work on a dedicated cardiothoracic inter-professional team with other established APPs. critical care physicians and cardiothoracic surgeons in addition to the multidisciplinary team.
+ Perform bedside ICU and Acute Care procedures
+ Provide care for critically ill cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical patients
+ Participate in the education of nursing and resident staff
+ Participate in quality improvement projects and process improvement activities for the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery
+ Performs other related duties as required **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Current and valid state Registered Nurse Licensure for ARNP or Physician Assistant licensure for PA-C
+ Graduate Degree from and accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or accredited Physician Assistant Program
+ Nationally certified ARNP/PA with DEA
+ Proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment
+ Effective interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and clinical expertise in critical care and the care of cardiothoracic surgical patients.
+ ACLS Certification
+ Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
+ Basic computer knowledge and command of basic personal computer skills **CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT** All candidates must be eligible for and able to maintain a Washington State medical license.
