The L3Harris Communication Systems segment Tactical Communications sector is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented Electrical Engineer experienced in Project Engineering and specifically large multi dimensional projects, to join an engineering organization that designs and delivers leading edge communications products.
This role will report to an Engineering Director and will not include direct people management duties. The successful candidate will be responsible for electrical hardware management of one or more products/projects mainly in the multi-channel radio portfolio, but across the sector as needed. As a lead member of the multi-channel radio management team, the candidate will have hands on responsibility for leading engineering projects. This role requires strong project management, leadership and teamwork skills. The candidate will be expected to lead technology initiatives that may go beyond their personal technical competency, utilizing Subject Matter Experts including Engineers and Scientists from other specific disciplines as required. The candidate will work collaboratively across the engineering organization to focus on cost estimatations (labor and material), requirements management, technical baseline creation, review and approval, configuration management, process artifact review and approval, risk management/analysis, and project execution management.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, project management, collaborative leadership, and teamwork skills coupled with the ability to work within a large engineering team and organization are required.
Essential Functions:
+ Electrical rough order of magnitude (ROM) and basis of estimate (BOE) creation
+ Laison to the Chief Engineering (CE) for respective products
+ Resource and planning management responsibility
+ Financial reporting and responsibility for respective project budgets
+ Support hardware project management for new designs and legacy sustainment
+ Manage competing priorities amongst several projects
+ Create and maintain project schedules
+ Tracking and estimating project requirements and budgets

The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) enriches the environment and protects public health for all New Yorkers by providing 1.1 billion gallons of high quality drinking water, managing wastewater and stormwater, and reducing air, noise, and hazardous materials pollution. DEP is the largest combined municipal water and wastewater utility in the country, with nearly 6,000 employees. DEP's water supply system is comprised of 19 reservoirs and 3 controlled lakes throughout the system's 2,000 square mile watershed that extends 125 miles north and west of the City.
The Division of Facilities Management and Construction Services Unit is responsible for the construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance of all DEP facilities, including both leased and City-owned space.
The Lead Project Manager will perform the following duties:
Responsible for performing professional work of varying degrees of difficulty in the management of construction related contracts, supervision of in-house technical staff and coordination with in-house trade personnel and contractors in the performance of repairs and alterations in DEP facilities.
Serve as consultant on major engineering matters, conduct and direct a significant portion of research on complex and important engineering projects, prepare original proposals and reports of a complex nature, serve as team leader on projects of great technical complexity or with potential impact on agency engineering operation and/ or City infrastructure; signs and seals engineering and other official documents.
Serves as Lead Project Manager of the Division's Facility Construction Services Unit with responsibility for such functions as facilities management, overall planning and coordination of expense and capital contract activities in DEP facilities, supervising technical in-house staff responsible for the construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of all DEP facilities with regards to contract management, procurement and deliveries, coordinating with in-house trade personnel and contractors in the performance of repairs and alterations in DEP facilities.
This position reports to the Director of FMC Construction Services.
Must possess the following:
- Engineering license specializing in Civil Engineering.
- Ability to prepare, review and approve technical plans, blueprints, and drawings.
- Knowledge of laws, legal codes, government regulations, agency rules, etc.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation and coordination of people and resources.
- Ability to communicate effectively and provide information and guidance.
- Possess and maintain a valid NYS Driver's license for the duration of employment.

The Office of Livable Streets (OLS) is tasked with prioritizing strategic planning, community engagement, research, policy, design, implementation, and long-term management. Their goal is to create streets that are livable, supporting safety, accessibility, inclusion, resiliency, active modes, community cohesion, and economic vitality citywide. Additionally, they aim to enhance New York City's pedestrian, bicycle, and micromobility networks, providing comfortable, connected, green, and reliable transportation options across the five boroughs. They place special emphasis on Priority Investment Areas, mode shift, and reimagining streets. The office also develops innovative new programs, design typologies, project delivery, and analysis tools to meet the demands of a rapidly changing population with evolving needs and technologies. The Bicycle Unit is responsible for the nation's largest network of on-street bicycle facilities (1,000+ lane-miles), enhancing street safety, and increasing bike ridership in NYC. The team's primary focus is the innovative redesign of City streets to expand and improve the bike network. Located within the Office of Livable Streets, this team is responsible for developing and raising the profile of the greenway program, branding and building pedestrian/bike corridors, open spaces, and non-vehicular paths throughout the five boroughs of NYC. The Greenways Project Lead will be a key member of agency's greenway development team. Tasks include visioning, street design, research, and formulating public campaigns/presentations that lead to complete street implementation. The selected candidate must be able to prepare maps and technical drawings using AutoCAD, Illustrator, GIS and/or other graphic tools, using them to apply the latest traffic calming techniques and streetscape design concepts. Project implementation management will be required, giving this role hands on experience with operational units and contractors. The ideal candidate should have experience in meeting deadlines and complying with all city, state and federal oversight rules and regulations. The Project Specialist oversees the Company's demand-side management (DSM) initiatives to help ensure system reliability, including design, operations, administration, budgetary, marketing, performance and analysis, reporting, process improvement, customer and stakeholder engagement, and the team responsible for implementing these initiatives.The successful candidate will lead a team of experienced DSM professionals that will further the Company's clean energy transition, support Climate Leadership & Community Protection Act (CLCPA) legislation, and implement programs that are designed to achieve the Company's clean energy goals and comply with all regulatory mandates. - Responds to interrogatories and other regulatory inquiries regarding software platforms, customer engagement strategies, and overall program outreach and education and represents the Company in regulatory proceedings.
- Prepares and administers program marketing, outreach and education operating budgets and identifies the effectives of outreach strategies to maximize performance.
- Provides guidance and assistance to business partners for the purpose of identifying and marketing the proper mix of clean energy products and service offerings and reviews all marketing to ensure it meets all Company branding.
- Ensures potential customer concerns associated with the purchase of clean energy products and services are mitigated and plans in place to resolve concerns quickly.
