TECHNICAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST - US Residence based position

TECHNICAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST - RESIDENCE

PURPOSE

The purpose of the Technical Support Specialist is to provide enhanced in-depth remote technical support to internal and external customers for Bayer products (including device and software) while driving improvements in response time, first time fix rates, productivity and overall customer satisfaction. This position sits under the Bayer Customer Response Squad and will be responsible to develop, documents and communicate new procedures and processes that meet industry compliance, regulatory and customer standards. This position supports service initiatives for remote connectivity and operational efficiencies to meet productivity, quality and business objectives along with support of the PCU program to enhance our biomed partnerships and provides operational efficiencies to TAC. In addition, the incumbent will maintain technical certification and stay up to date with current service process procedures/policies to provide field service or TAC support in accordance with business needs.

The shift for this Residence role is a rotating 8 hr. shift M-F with start times as early as 6am EST and shift end times as late at 11pm EST along with a rotating weekend shift (S/S) from 7:30am-3:30pm EST. OT as required.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides in-depth technical phone and email support to internal and external customers for Bayer products, including software and device applications, while driving improvements in response time, first time fix rates, productivity and overall customer satisfaction;
Performs high quality service during customer technical service requests, internal team projects, and process improvement activities. Completes all service requests, ServiceMax cases and workorders, performance field dispatch and supports customer implementation requests in a timely manner. Works with teammates to make sure the team has all tools, equipment, and parts necessary to get the job done;
Provides install and post install support as requested for all existing and future Bayer software offerings and entitlements;
Assists in coaching and mentoring of new members of the team in their technical capacities;
Supports software upgrades and other vulnerability mitigation processes as needed;
Administer systems, including portal rights, self-service licensing and device access keys so that both internal and external customers have timely access to needed software;
Assist in developing documenting, and communicating new procedures and processes that meet industry compliance, regulatory and customer standards;
Build strong relationships across multiple organizations including marketing, new product development, sales and operational excellence;
Contribute towards creating a motivational performance/results-oriented team self-organized work environment; contributing to creating a teamwork atmosphere where each team member is willing to participate and go out of their way to help each other.

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma/GED required with 5 years of applicable and demonstrated success working in a technical support role, helpdesk or call center;
OR an Associate's degree in related field with 2 years of applicable experience;
OR a Bachelor's degree in related field with 1 years of applicable experience;
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics;
Demonstrated ability to work in a face paced self-directed environment;
Strong verbal and written competencies; along with flexibility and good judgment;
Ability to prioritize individual workload and small group tasks to ensure customer satisfaction and team efficiency;
Proficient in Microsoft Office product suite;
Strong customer relationship focus & skillset; with confidence to deescalate customer concerns;
Confidence to provide direction and communicate without direct authority.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated knowledge of Bayer's Radiology business & product suite;
Proficiency with departmental tools such as, ServiceMax, ThingWorx and KB systems;
Current or prior technical troubleshooting acumen for Bayer suite of products;
Software knowledge and troubleshooting capabilities; including Certegra.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $67,341.00 to $101,011.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.

This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.

The ACES-Ag Information Technology Unit at Auburn University is seeking a talented and motivated individual to fill the position of Technical Support Analyst supporting the Alabama Cooperative Extension System (ACES), College of Agriculture (CoAg), and Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station (AAES). Reporting to the ACES-Ag IT Manager, the successful candidate will play a vital role in organizing and supporting various technology projects, coordinating with OIT and other IT units on deploying technology, and training faculty and staff both individually and in groups.

The Technical Support Analyst must be able to work independently, collaboratively, and in partnership with other IT professionals in the ACES-Ag IT unit and the Auburn University IT community. The ideal candidate applies systems thinking, possesses superior interpersonal and communication skills, is self-motivated, and is a lifelong learner who supports others in seeking new knowledge and skills.

Working onsite is a requirement of the job. Work assignments may have establised deadlines and require periods of "on-call" support responsibilities. In-state travel may be required from time to time.

Essential Functions

Essential functions include, but are not limited to:

Analyzes and solves problems with complex computer applications and systems. Provides a wide range of in-depth technical assistance and guidance to campus constituents.
Analyzes current and proposed hardware and software systems. Develops and maintains complex systems for various constituencies.
Reviews proposals which consist of objectives, scope, and client expectations. Gathers facts, analyzes data, and prepares proposal synopses comparing alternatives in terms of cost, time, and available resources and recommends courses of action.
Reviews, evaluates, and recommends solutions for hardware and software acquisitions.
Provides individual and group instruction on computer technologies.
Provides technical support for teaching, research, and extension initiatives and for the implementation of new technologies for adoption.
May serve as project leader for technology projects with large scope impacting University stakeholders, overseeing and integrating the work of other employees.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Technical Support Analyst

High School/GED plus 11 years of relevant IT experience, OR
Associate's degree plus 7 years of relevant IT experience, OR
Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of relevant IT experience.

Salary grade range for this level: $52,860 - $9,860 • Typical starting salaries are between $6 ,000 - 75,000

Senior Technical Support Analyst

Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of relevant IT experience.

Salary grade range for this level: 59,460 - 101,090. Typical starting salaries are between 78,000 - 85,000 Salaries are calculated based on years of experience, education, and certifications.

Scope of Experience Experience should be in IT support and analysis, preferably in a university setting.

Position Overview:

C Squared Systems is currently seeking a Technical Support Manager to lead our NOC/Support Team. The successful candidate will have responsibility for all aspects of the Technical Support Team and processes which span both software support of our SitePortal® monitoring product and Tier 1 remote monitoring of customer wireless/DAS venues. This involves advocating on behalf of internal/external customers and facilitating resolution of technical product issues identified SitePortal® users, ensuring alarm responses adhere to SLA requirements, motivating the team, and improving current technical support processes and workflows.

Primary Responsibilities

The Technical Support Manager provides day-to-day general management of the technical support team, including staffing and development, as well as technical guidance to help resolve more advanced issues.
Facilitate success of the team through management/guidance of customer support tickets and remote monitoring incident tickets; identification, analysis, and management of critical customer issues to ensure timely and accurate resolution and follow-up.
Develop and implement processes, systems, and technology to support and enhance the technical support function; Capitalize on industry best practices to scale the growing business.
Develop and provide regular reporting to measure effectiveness of the technical support function and identify areas in need of attention.
Ensure wide-ranging or high-priority customer issues are addressed with an appropriate degree of urgency by other internal C Squared teams such as Development, DevOps, and Quality Assurance, and implement formal feedback mechanisms for incidents, causes and resolutions.

Skills/Qualifications/Expectations:

Bachelor’s degree in a Technical Discipline (IT, Engineering, Computer Science) with 6+ years in Technical Support;

Job Summary

Auburn University Facilities Management is excited to begin the search for an Electrical Technical Advisor! Reporting to the Maintenance Engineer, the Electrical Technical Advisor serves as the University's lead technical expert for power and electrical related facility and building maintenance issues in support of the Facilities Management organization responsible for maintaining over 250 campus facilities totaling over 7 million square feet of building space. Serves as the most knowledgeable expert on campus regarding building power and electrical systems and equipment, as well as fire alarm and other digital control systems. Responsible for providing in-depth technical support regarding building electrical or fire alarm systems and equipment to solve difficult, non-routine electrical or fire alarm problems encountered by the four (4) Facilities Maintenance Zones and eight (8) Facilities Maintenance Shops. Plays a key role in ensuring the successful execution of over 3,000 electrical related maintenance work orders annually to correct and repair building deficiencies and problems as required to keep campus facilities operational in support of the University's academic, research, and outreach mission.

Essential Functions

Serves as the subject matter expert on all electrical and fire alarm systems for the Maintenance Department. When electrical work requirements are too complex for technical personnel, this position will diagnose problems and prescribe repair methods.
Coordinates and oversees an electrical quality control program where electrical maintenance tasks and new installations are reviewed for compliance to applicable standards.
Reviews electrical design documents to ensure compliance to University standards and provides input to design team that enhances the ablity for AU Maintenance staff to care for the systems in the future.
Provides periodic on-site inspections for electrical construction and renovation projects to ensure work performed by University tradesmen and contractors meet University electrical standards and contract requirements and in a manner that complies with the appropriate regulatory agencies.
Plans for and ensures necessary outages are reviewed for operational effectiveness. Communicates with stakeholders to keep them aware of activities, maximize efficiencies, answer questions, and resolve issues.
Evaluates proposed electrical jobs in order to estimate and provide written and oral quotes. Meets with clients to gather information in development of estimates. Plans and organizes electrical renovations and construction project requirements for facilities and infrastructure on University property.
Develops, and keeps current, procedures and operating instructions for safe, accurate and quality electrical work performance. Provides training on a regular basis with small group classes or independently to increase electrical skill and knowledge of all technical personnel across the Maintenance Department, but especially those in the electrician job family.
May be responsible for training, assisting or assigning tasks to others. May provide input to performance reviews of other employees.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
High School diploma or equivalent. Vocational or technical diploma preferred.

Experience:
7 years of experience in electrical maintenance and establishing best practices for preventative maintenance of building systems. Ability to effectively communicate with customers and employees. At least one year experience mentoring others and leading projects.

Substitutions allowed for Experience: Degrees accepted in lieu of experience, at a rate of one year relevant education per year of required experience. Additional education (Community/Technical/Vocational College and/or 4-year college degree) in a technical field can substitute for experience.

Minimum Skills, License, and Certifications

Minimum Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of electrical building systems, blueprint reading, construction practices, and computer applications such as web-based work order system and Microsoft Office software.
Must have above average customer service skills and high level verbal communication skills.
