**Position Overview:**
**BWXT is currently seeking a technical/science intern for the summer of 2026.**
**Location:**
On-site in Lynchburg, Virginia.
BWXT offers paid internships along with a housing stipend for those interns whose home of record is more than 50 miles from Lynchburg, VA. Internships will last approximately 10-12 weeks. At the end of the internship, each intern has the opportunity to present their completed work/ assigned projects to the leadership team.
**Your Day to Day as a Technical/Science Intern:**
The candidate will be responsible for performing the following:
+ Developing and delivering unique engineering solutions used in a nuclear environment.
+ Creating/updating drawings and procedures.
+ Participates in design testing, analysis, project management, and procurement of materials.
+ OSH candidates will collect data, analyze, and design improvements to work environments and procedures.
+ IT candidates will provide hardware, software, and other IT needed support.

**Required Qualifications:**

What You Will Do

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment and circuits

• Maintain, program, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)

• Maintain and troubleshoot circuits and components on pneumatic systems, control devices, and hydraulic equipment

**SCOPE OF POSITION:**

+ Expected to work overtime during scheduled weekend work as determined by their supervisor which includes Saturday and/or Sunday and be flexible to work across shifts and holidays as necessary. Available for on-call emergencies.

**QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING:**

**Summary**

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add a **Principal OR Sr. Principal Payloads Field Service Engineer** to our **International Field Service Engineer** team. This position will be in our Avionics Integration Organization supporting MQ-4C Triton Program.
This position reports to the Operations team lead within the Mission Systems Integrated Product Team (MS IPT). This position will receive daily tasking and prioritization from their site lead. The selected candidate will be responsible for operations and maintenance support of the MQ-4C Triton sensors and communications systems at a Forward Operating Base (FOB).
**Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:**
+ Provide real time support to flight operations and maintenance addressing any issues related to communications and/or payloads to include MFAS Radar, EO/IR, airborne recorder, and link16 to include fault isolation, remediation, and resolution.
+ Coordinate work with site leadership and confirm that Maintenance Action Forms (MAFs) are in place for all required work.
+ Adhere to checklists and procedures to ensure repeated success. Provide redlines to procedures when necessary.
+ Communicate complex technical issues to local support, the Degrader Action Cell (DAC), Main Operation Bases (MOBs), and Responsible Engineers (REs).
+ Support and lead air crew engagement for proper techniques in solving complex analysis of technical problems that arise during operations.
+ Assist with trend analysis as needed for Responsible Engineers (REs).
+ Assist Air Vehicle Operator (AVO) with Main Operating Base comms (voice), networks, and other AVO interfaces.
+ Attain and employ expertise across all supported sensor and communications systems.
+ Potentially provide field support at various international sites.

** This position requires 6+ months of training on a Domestic Assignment to San Diego (Rancho Bernardo), CA with some travel to other US locations such as Baltimore, MD and Jacksonville, FL. After training is completed, it is expected that the candidate will be available to deploy to Japan, Italy, United Arab Emirates, or Guam for a minimum of 24 months, based on current business needs. The international location will be selected by Northrop Grumman after training is completed and will be based on timing and available location(s), determined by business needs. Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add a **Principal OR Senior Principal Field Service Engineer - Network and Communications** to join our team at **RAAF Base Tindal in Australia** . This position will be in our Avionics Integration Organization supporting MQ-4C Triton Program.
This position will receive daily tasking and prioritization from their site lead. The selected candidate will be responsible for operations and maintenance support of the MQ-4C Triton network and communications systems at a Forward Operating Base (FOB).
**Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:**
+ Provide real time support for flight operations and maintenance addressing any issues related to communications and networking to include fault isolation, remediation, and resolution.
+ Perform field integration, troubleshooting, and repair of communications and data link systems in military flight test environment, including operations on a flightline, in a hangar, and in command-and-control centers.
+ Adhere to checklists and procedures to ensure repeated success and providing redlines to procedures when necessary
+ Communicate complex technical issues to local support, the Degrader Action Cell (DAC), Main Operation Bases (MOBs), and Responsible Engineers (REs).
+ Support and lead air crew engagement for proper techniques in solving complex analysis of technical problems that arise during operations.
+ Assist with trend analysis as needed for Responsible Engineers (REs).
+ Perform/support review and analysis of supplier design data and definition of functional test requirements including acceptance, qualification, and system integration.
+ Responsibility for the testing, maintenance, and integration of Comms and Networks equipment to include radio terminals, software loads, switches, routers, and firewalls required to support ground and flight test operations.
+ Work with system admins, maintainers, and onsite personnel to troubleshoot and repair any internal operational issues.
