You will act as the primary architect and technical lead on projects to scope and estimate work streams, architect and model technical solutions to meet business requirements and serve as a technical expert in client communications. You will also serve as the day-to-day project team leader, set up product backlogs, code repositories, and build/release management tools, create presentation decks for client stakeholder meetings, and coach and lead junior resources on projects.

You will lead teams (usually 2-8) in implementing software and cloud solutions. Our projects range from developing complex platform integrations, designing event-driven architectures, engineering data pipelines, product engineering, and creating custom web applications.

Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$132,000 - $198,000

Job Description

The job profile for this position is Software Engineering Advisor, which is a Band 4 Contributor Career Track Role with Cigna-Evernorth Services Inc.
Responsibilities-
+ Develop/deliver APIs designed to provide fast, reliable, and consistent information to consumers.
+ Articulate business objectives aligned with technical specifications and partner with technical project officer to design products.
+ Architect a pilot/proof of concept effort to innovate delivery and automate manual data object creation and test cases.
+ Develop/maintain entity- based microservices.
+ Collaborate with product owners to ensure code quality and performance. Implement test suites to test developed functionalities.
+ Provide daily updates in scrum calls and participate in bi-weekly sprints.
+ Build integrated update processors to load legacy data into microservice-based applications.
+ Utilize message brokers to process messages from sources to destinations. Deploy code into cloud/containerization platforms after each implementation of new features.
+ Coordinate with other teams to rectify production issues and conduct operational triages of bugs, failed test cases, and system failures.
+ Participate in code reviews to identify code defects and suggest changes to maintain clean and concise code.
+ Research new technologies and document them to enhance API processing performance, test driven development, and behavior driven development.
+ Hybrid work schedule.
Qualifications-
Position requires a bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering or related plus three years of experience in software development. Experience must include Java, Springboot, Kafka, RESTful services, Cucumber, Amazon Web Services (AWS), MongoDB, Application Programming Interfaces (API), relational databases, database design, Git, Sprint planning, Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), Postman, and Splunk.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
