**Job Description:**
The Senior System Administrator will handle system administration tasks, including infrastructure management, information security, software installation, and configuration control. This role involves creating innovative solutions to technical challenges, providing system support with modern tools, and overseeing the design and performance of computing systems for effective capacity planning and disaster recovery.
Position Responsibilities:
Oversees system integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture
Provides complex problem resolution, root cause analysis and technical support for delivery systems
Participates in the design, validation and configuration management of computing delivery systems
Plans and coordinates system changes
Administers user system access and establishes safeguards to protect information to meet security requirements
Oversees activities to monitor system performance to support capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery planning
Mentors, leads and trains others
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Successfully completed a Tier 5 Investigation (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) by the federal government within the last 5 years or agreed to enter a Continuous Vetting program such that 5 year updates are no longer required
Active Full Scope Polygraph
5+ years of experience as a systems administrator
5+ years of experience working in a cross functional environment with all levels in the business from individual contributors to executive leadership
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Active certifications in Cloud, INFOSEC, etc.
Experience with Virtualization (AHV, VMWare ESXi, Hyper-V, etc.)

SAIC is looking for a **Splunk System Administrator** to provide support for our Navy Computer Defense Network (CND) subcontract located at **Joint Base Charleston (JBC), No. Charleston, SC** . Navy CND is an integral part of the cyber defense posture, protecting the Navy's component of the Global Information Grid (GIG) from exploitation and strongly linking to critical infrastructure protection. Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic requires resources to support the Research, Development, Test & Evaluation (RDT&E) and Integration activities for the Information Technology for the 21st Century (IT-21), and OCONUS Navy Enterprise Network (ONENET) networks, to enhance network and cyber security.
As a member of the CND Engineering Team the candidate will provide network security design, installation, support, and system administration support for Computer Network Defense Systems (CNDS). Candidate will perform product testing, product evaluation and reviews, network design, and system development of Information Assurance (IA) and network systems. This team consists of numerous engineers and SMEs tasked with finding the next solutions for CND systems.
**Qualifications**
**Education and experience:**
+ Must have a Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of related experience; Master's degree and three (3) years of related experience; years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
**Required skills:**
+ At least 5 years of experience with Splunk, preferably with back-end Splunk development/server architecture/design experience.
+ Experience or familiarity with Python, Linux, SQL, Ruby, and PowerShell.
+ Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) experience (Splunk, Distributed Splunk).
+ Continuous Development/Integration software (Jenkins, GIT CI) experience.

+ Provide software engineering expertise to support a Systems Integration Test and Evaluation (SITE) Integrated Product Team (IPT) with systems engineering efforts for the TacMobile program.
+ Develop, maintain, and unit test code by utilizing software development environments and programming languages.
+ **Collaboration and Communication:**
+ Work closely with P-8 platform interfaces as well as the Global Command and Control System (GCCS).
+ Collaborate with other contractor teammates and customers daily.

**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
The successful candidate must have:

+ Experience with hardware designing/development, trade studies, technical analysis and an understanding of interface design requirements.
