Job Description
This part-time position is a unique opportunity for a passionate individual to work with clients to empower older adults by helping them thrive in the digital world and harness technology to achieve their personal goals. Trainers are the face of clients to older adults; in addition to delivering clients curriculum and offering technology support, trainers serve as "brand ambassadors" and are responsible for communicating the clients culture of excellence, curiosity, and attitude.
Trainers teach clients' curriculum using books and online resources specifically designed for older adults. In person classes typically meet twice a week for ten weeks. Virtual programs are primarily one-off sessions focused around particular technology topics. Trainer schedules will vary each quarter. Trainers guide participants in sending emails, exploring their interests online, connecting with family and friends on social media, banking online, starting small businesses, and much more. Our trainers are also fundamental in creating a community of support among participants.
This position requires solid proficiency in common software applications and devices, but more important is a dedication to teaching and the ability to effectively communicate the relevance of technology to seniors' lives. A successful candidate will possess a high degree of patience, creativity, dependability, and problem-solving ability, along with a sense of humor and a strong commitment to social change.
Responsibilities:
- Teaching technology courses virtually and in-person using the clients curriculum and approach
- Creating a comfortable and supportive learning environment
- Offering personalized support to callers on the Senior Planet hotlines
- Making outbound calls to Senior Planet members
- Maintaining professionalism at all times
- Representing and promoting Senior Planet culture and opportunities to course participants
- Engaging in regular communication with clients staff, including feedback on site issues, curriculum, etc.
- Coordinating with site staff, including site visits, graduations, etc.
- Submitting paperwork in a timely manner
- Collecting surveys and evaluations
- Entering data into Salesforce database

• Technology Trainers possess a moderate degree of autonomy and independent judgment especially in relationship to programs they're assigned to teach and deliver. Technology trainers set the tone, mange the environment, and help guide groups of all sizes towards learning objectives that are preset by clients.

• Technology Trainers have limited decision-making authority and must adhere to clients training standards, approaches, and methodologies throughout all interactions with participants.

• Technology Trainers have a diverse, albeit narrow, challenge. They are responsible for working with older adults aged 60+ in myriad settings who all possess different levels of experience and skills related to tech adoption and digital literacy. This complex set of situations forces Technology Trainers to think on their feet, act quickly, and apply a broad brush to different circumstances.
Primary nature of interaction the position has with others - informative/coaching
• Technology Trainers' interactions with others (customers, I.e., seniors) are predominantly educational and coaching in nature. They are largely assigned to help clients and Senior Planet participants master technology skills with broader applications to daily life. Internally, trainers work with their counterparts and other clients program staff to retrieve assignments and connect about best practices.

Qualifications:
- Excellent speaking and communication skills
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese

- Proficiency with Windows computers, iOS, popular social media sites, and other common technologies/devices
- Comfortable traveling to various senior/community centers as needed, when/if safe to do so

Schedule:
Trainers will work between the hours of 9-5 conducting trainings for 1.5 - 3 hours, this includes set up times.
Trainers will need to go to different sites throughout the week in all 5 boroughs of NYC
On average this will be a 20 + hours a week with the potential for more hours depending on the needs for that quarter
Working hours are typically Mondays - Thursdays.
Schedules are determined at the beginning of each quarter.
A 1-2 week break may be taken at the end of each quarter to allow time for preparation for the next.

• Works with the Director of IT in planning, scheduling, and implementing major initiatives. Requirements
REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education, experience, and certifications
• Ten (10) plus years hands on IT experience including computer networks, network administration and network installation
• At least (5) years of IT management experience
• Cybersecurity experience a plus

Position Summary
The American Museum of Natural History is one of the world's preeminent scientific and cultural institutions, and has as its mission to discover, interpret and disseminate information about human cultures, the natural world and the universe through a wide-ranging program of scientific research, education and exhibition.
The Information Technology department is seeking an IT Project Manager to drive the full lifecycle of IT projects from initiation to closeout. This includes developing project charters to define scope, objectives and stakeholder roles, creating detailed project schedules tied to milestones and tracking progress against those timelines. The role also covers managing project documentation, coordinating outputs with technical teams and ensuring seamless communication with internal and external partners and collaborators. As projects move toward completion, the Project Manager will lead closeout activities, capturing lessons learned and finalizing outputs including run books.
This role reports to the Senior Manager of Product and Planning and is a part of IT's Product and Planning team.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and support IT projects and efforts as assigned.
- Develop meeting agendas, schedule and facilitate project meetings, take minutes and follow up on action items.
- Create and maintain project charters, schedules and other key project documentation.
- Provide regular project updates and status reports.
- Track project tasks assigned to internal teams and external vendors.
- Maintain a schedule that requires availability after-hours for system upgrades, project rollouts and emergencies.
Pay will be determined based on several factors. The hiring range for the position at commencement is based on the type of work and the scope of responsibilities. The salary and placement offered is based on a number of individualized factors, including, but not limited to, skills, knowledge, training, education, credentials, areas of specialization and depth and scope of experience.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, business, computer science, operations or another related field.
- Two years of demonstrated experience managing projects, preferably in a technical environment.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Familiarity with IT systems and project coordination for technology implementations.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for prolonged periods.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
- Must be able to move about the Museum campus.
