Job overview and responsibilities

The DT Tech Ops Principal Architect will collaborate with United Airlines Enterprise teams to ensure compliance with architectural standards. This role involves applying these standards to the DT Tech Ops technical design and strategy across various applications, platforms, and services, including third-party implementations of MRO, ERP, and other IT systems. The Principal architect will implement enterprise architecture standards within cloud and on-premise infrastructures, ensuring adherence to DevOps, security, and data management standards. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of translating enterprise architecture standards into actionable design, guaranteeing that applications are built in a scalable, secure, and compliant way.

  • Collaborate with enterprise applications teams to ensure alignment with Enterprise Architecture standards and strategic guidance.
  • Develop and uphold architecture guidelines and best practices for third-party ERP system implementations, along with cloud data and integration initiatives.
  • Implement and maintain relentless automation for end to end CI/CD pipelines and observability leveraging tools (Harness, Dynatrace, AWS & Azure Ecosystem) to ensure efficient software delivery and application reliability.
  • Assist in the design and oversee the provisioning and management of on-premise servers, AWS cloud infrastructure, and AWS cloud cost management.
  • Implement and maintain compliance across all DT Tech Operations applications, conducting regular assessments, audits and translating the findings to be the foundation of our action plans for remediation
  • Lead efforts in identifying, managing, and mitigating security vulnerabilities using the enterprise applications and infrastructure.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to development and operations teams, promoting best practices in architecture and development. Continuously research and advocate for the adoption of new technologies and methodologies that can benefit the organization.
  • Evaluate vendor solutions and assess their alignment with enterprise architecture, ensuring they meet organizational requirements and standards
Qualifications
Whats needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field required
  • 8-10 years of experience in enterprise architecture, with a strong background in managing complex enterprise applications and infrastructure
  • Enterprise Applications
  • In-depth experience with at least one category (Maintenace repair and overhaul or supply chain or engineering configuration or compliance or related field). System experience with at least one category (EPR or MRO)
  • Cloud and On-Premises Infrastructure
  • Expertise in on-premises server provisioning, with a focus on hybrid cloud environments
  • DevOps and CI/CD:Strong knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD, automation, and observability tools (Harness, Dynatrace)
  • PCI Compliance: Proven experience in implementing and maintaining PCI compliance for enterprise applications
  • Security and Vulnerability Management: Solid understanding of security best practices, including vulnerability management and mitigation
  • Data Management: Proficient in data architecture, governance, and security, with experience in both relational and non-relational databases
  • Experience with Java and .NET
  • Azure or AWS experience
  • Proficient in relational and non-relational databases, data governance, and data integration strategies

The base pay range for this role is $137,275.00 to $178,670.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.

About The Role

  • individual data flows, leveraging deep proficiency in Kinaxis Integration Platform Suite, Maestro data model, and REST based API Integration capabilities.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Research, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistics, Information Technology or a related field.
  • 7 10 years experience in business software consulting or software deployment, preferably in supply chain.

Department Overview

The Senior Director, Global Technology Strategy & Performance will report to the VP, Global Technology Strategy & Planning and serve as a strategic partner to the Global CIO and Global Technology leadership team. This role is responsible for shaping long-term technology strategy, aligning with enterprise planning, driving performance management (KPIs, OKRs, metrics), and leading executive-level communications and business reviews. The role requires a strong presence, analytical rigor, and the ability to translate complex strategies into compelling narratives for senior stakeholders.

Duties

  • Lead the development and execution of long-range strategic plans in partnership with the Global CIO and Strategy & Planning teams.
  • Drive the performance management agenda across Global Technology, including the definition, tracking, and reporting of KPIs, OKRs, and other success metrics.
  • Serve as the architect and facilitator of Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), ensuring alignment, accountability, and visibility across the organization.
  • Build and deliver high-impact executive presentations and strategic narratives for senior leadership forums, board updates, and global CIO communications.
  • Partner with Finance, HR, and Strategy teams to ensure strategic initiatives are resourced, sequenced, and measured effectively.
  • Lead a team of strategy and performance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and maintain strategic operating rhythms, including annual planning, mid-year reviews, and strategic offsites.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive benchmarks, and emerging technologies to inform strategic direction and innovation opportunities.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing insights and recommendations that shape enterprise-wide technology decisions.
  • Ensure alignment between strategic priorities and operational execution through close collaboration with Operations Excellence, Product, and Engineering teams.
  • Lead a high performing team of directors and managers - provide strategic vision for the department while also balancing near-term deliverables
  • Ensure professional development, performance management, and succession planning activities to build and retain a high-performing team

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required; MBA or advanced degree in Business, Technology, or related field preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in technology strategy, performance management, or enterprise planning roles.
  • Proven track record of leading strategic planning and performance management in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with experience preparing materials for C-level audiences.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to synthesize data into actionable insights.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing without authority.
