DEFINITION
Under general supervision, performs a variety of technical duties related to the installation, administration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of the City's information technology (IT) systems. Duties include configuration and management of servers, networks, cybersecurity frameworks, desktop hardware and software, vendor coordination, system upgrades, user support, and project-based implementations.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
The Information Technology Specialist is a technical classification responsible for performing a broad range of duties related to the support, maintenance, and administration of the City's IT systems. Incumbents work with a high level of independence and are expected to apply sound judgment to ensure the stability, security, and efficiency of Citywide technology operations. This classification is distinguished from the Help Desk Technician by its broader scope of responsibility, emphasis on systems administration, infrastructure-level troubleshooting, cybersecurity support, and enterprise application management.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Works under the direct administrative and technical supervision of the Information Systems Manager or designee. No supervision is exercised.
Examples of Duties
Essential responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Install, configure, monitor, and maintain IT hardware and networking systems including servers, desktops, firewalls, switches, access points, SAN storage, and Ubiquiti OLT systems.
- Manage server infrastructure, virtualization platforms, and storage solutions including Dell servers and SAN administration.
- Support, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise software and services including Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Entra ID, SharePoint, Teams), Windows OS, Office Suite, Zoom, and Windows Server environments.
- Administer databases and applications including Microsoft SQL Server, ESRI GIS products, and enterprise systems.
- Provide shared helpdesk support for City staff including troubleshooting of workstations, software, printers, VoIP, and other peripherals.
- Support the City's cybersecurity program by assisting with the implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of IT security systems and procedures.
- Plan and implement security systems including surveillance cameras, NVRs, access control hardware, and related management software.
- Monitor and analyze network traffic for faults, optimizations, and performance improvements.
- Support the Loma Linda Connected Community Project (LLCCP) including customer onboarding, technical support, and low-voltage inspections.
- Assist in budget planning, procurement research, and development of vendor quotes and project proposals.
- Prepare and manage Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and related staff reports.
- Provide technical and audio-visual support during City Council meetings.
- Assists with the research and creation of standard operating procedures, protocols, and policies.
- Network infrastructure troubleshooting as it pertains to fiber optics and copper cabling.
- Complete afterhours tasks and participate in scheduled or emergency overtime as needed.
- Provide training to IT staff, interns, and temporary personnel on department operations.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.

Education:
Associate degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a closely related field is required. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Preferred Certifications:
CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), and Google IT Support Professional Certificate.

Position Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Information Technology or designee, the Assistant Director of Information Technology (AD of IT) serves as a key partner in leading Sage Oak's technology program. Sage Oak is a non-classroom-based virtual charter school. There are no physical campuses, and all infrastructure resides in the cloud. The AD of IT manages IT managers and specialists, provides strategic leadership for cloud-based systems, and delivers operational support that aligns technology initiatives with educational goals. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
Overarching Duties and Abilities for All Sage Oak Assistant Directors:
Primary Focus
- Supports the Director in establishing and implementing the department's vision, ensuring it complements school-wide objectives. Balances department-specific needs with broader school-wide requirements, fostering a cohesive approach to educational goals

Education & Experience
- A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of five years of experience in IT management, with at least three years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience managing cloud-based infrastructure, including architecture, deployment, and optimization.
- Demonstrated success leading large-scale projects, developing custom systems, and overseeing IT operations and support.
- Experience working in K-12 virtual or charter education is highly preferred.
- PMP or similar project-management certification is preferred.
- State and federal fingerprint clearance (LiveScan) to work with students (Ed. Code 44237). No prospective employee can report to work without this clearance being received and the Human Resources Manager notifying the immediate supervisor of this clearance.

Student assistant for the Technology Support Center department at Palm Desert Campus. With the assistance of staff employees, students will resolve issues in regards to computer lab equipment including printers, kiosks, and charging stations. Hours may include afterhours support, as well. Students may also be required to answer phones for campus operators when necessary.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Under direct supervision, duties include but not limited to:
- Assisting customer walk-ins with troubleshooting devices, connecting to Wi-Fi, assisting tech's with daily duties or projects, and answering campus-related questions.
- Resolving issues in regards to the computer lab equipment including printers, kiosks, and charging stations.
- Other duties as assigned.

JOB PURPOSE:
The Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) plays a crucial role in evaluating, recommending, and providing customized Complex Rehabilitation Technology (CRT) to meet the unique needs of our clients. This position involves working closely with clients, families, therapists, and physicians to ensure the appropriate equipment is provided to maximize independence and enhance quality of life. A strong understanding of clinical conditions and extensive knowledge of rehabilitation equipment are essential for success in this role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify clients' needs, functional limitations, and mobility goals based on therapist assessment findings and physician orders. This includes assessing physical abilities, environmental factors, and lifestyle considerations.
- Actively collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, therapists (PT,OT,SLP), clients and caregivers to develop individualized plans of care to achieve client mobility goals.
- Recommend appropriate CRT equipment and associated interventions based on client’s identified physical needs and mobility goals.
- Manage/Facilitate efficient procurement processes from equipment specification through delivery.
- Attain and apply clinical, technical and interpersonal skills in a needs analysis of complex mobility issues for individuals with various disabilities.
- Deliver and fit of equipment, assuring that functional goals established at the evaluation are metProvide thorough training and education to clients, families and caregivers on the safe and effective use of recommended equipment. Includes instruction on operation, maintenance and and troubleshooting
- Complete/maintain accurate and detailed documentation pertaining to client interactions in a timely manner.
- Attaining/exceeding annual sales goals and objectives as established at beginning of each fiscal year.
- Consistently reviewing and reporting on sales calls, sales outcomes, and sales opportunities.
- Maintaining all certifications and licenses, obtaining all required continuing education annually to assure no lapse in coverage.
- Maintaining eligibility status with various vendor systems as required to assure continuous access to facilities.
- Keeping abreast of funding requirements, learn the wide variety of products and manufacturers Numotion contracts with while utilizing and comprehending the technological advances within the Rehab Technology industry.
- Develop and maintain new and existing relations with various referral sources.
- Utilize Numotion Leadership Principles to perform job with integrity, compliance, and values consistent with Numotion’s mission.
- Adhere to employee or customer confidentiality and comply with Numotion’s policies and federal regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- Valid Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) certification.
- Demonstrate critical thinking, interpersonal and problem-solving skills required to generate appropriate, individualized recommendations for CRT equipment and interventions.
- Working knowledge of compliant billing processes for rehab/assistive technology equipment as necessary (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, etc.)
- Must have valid Drivers License.
PREFERRED COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum one (1) year experience working with complex rehabilitation technology.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, responsibilities and projects independently and effectively.
- Previous experience in selling DME equipment.
- Extensive knowledge of various clinical conditions impacting mobility, such as spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, and stroke.
- Comprehensive understanding of rehabilitation equipment, including power wheelchairs, manual wheelchairs, seating systems, adaptive controls, and other assistive devices.
- Working knowledge of compliant billing processes for rehab/assistive technology equipment as necessary (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, etc.)
- Ability to perform thorough and competent seating/mobility, assistive technology, and rehab equipment evaluations.
