The Lead, Cloud Network Engineer designs, analyzes, plans and modifies network components supporting customer communication implementation activities. The Lead, Network Engineer works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.
The Lead Network Support Engineer will be responsible for providing operational support for Humana's enterprise network which spans across multiple lines of business from government, retail clinics and pharmacies, distribution centers to the traditional corporate campus and datacenters. The primary responsibility of the Network Operations Manager will be to provide the highest quality network infrastructure environment support by ensuring the network operations team is monitoring the performance and health of the enterprise network and running point as the restoration lead for the network team on outage calls.
Team Lead responsibilities for these areas of concentration include, but are not limited:
+ Respond to escalations for all major and significant incidents (P0 - P2)
+ Serve as a primary liaison for network operations partnering with other infrastructure teams such as the technical operations team (Level 1), server, storage, security, SRE and application teams
+ Maintain and operate network solutions (routers, firewalls, switches, wireless, appliances) across the enterprise landscape with a focus on reliability, throughput, scalability, and security which will help us scale with the needs of the business
+ Provide a level of escalation in response to incidents/requests regarding network performance and configuration, including off hours escalations
+ Manage vendors and service providers encompassing but not limited to negotiations, licensing, adherence to service level agreements, and ensuring all support and maintenance contracts and services are up-to-date and providing appropriate coverage.
+ Obsolescence - Work to consolidate or replace legacy technologies with newer services, hardware and applications that drive continuous improvement and mitigate cybersecurity and resiliency risks.
+ Support the management of Network OpEx budget and make recommendations for future budget forecasting and planning needs.
+ Communicate status updates to Manager of IT and other Senior business leaders where necessary.
+ Research and recommend new technologies and solutions to meet business needs.
+ Technology roadmap development, management, and maintenance.
+ Documenting and updating all network infrastructure and supported business processes.
+ Capacity and performance planning.
+ Definition and development of operational KPIs and metrics.
+ Disaster recovery/business continuity integration.
+ Continuous knowledge and skills improvement
+ Responsibility of network operations which supports over 1800 applications, 80K users, 300+ locations, multiple datacenters, multi-cloud environments
+ Monitor and tune network infrastructure to identify and eliminate issues and potential bottlenecks
+ Maintain network documentation, run-books, diagrams, and network assets in the configuration management database
+ Develop and continually improve guidelines and procedures related to Network management including process and efficiency improvement
+ Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards to improve our service offerings

**Required Qualifications:**
+ BS/BA in a technical or scientific field. Or 8+ years in related experience.
+ **5+ years of experience architecting, implementing and supporting large-scale cloud network infrastructure, with advanced experience designing enterprise cloud network solutions.**
+ **Network engineering certification such as CCNA through CCNP or the equivalent**
+ 5+ years of project leadership experience.
+ 8+ years of Layer 2/ Layer 3 network architectural design (LAN/WAN) and engineering experience.
+ 5+ years of experience working with MPLS, BGP, OSPF, and other LAN/WAN technologies.
+ Strong experience supporting large-scale datacenters and remote sites.
+ Experience with Cisco networking equipment.
+ Experience with VPN technologies.
+ Knowledge of QoS and network security functions (firewalls, VPN, IPS, etc).
+ ISP and/or carrier backbone engineering experience/knowledge.
+ Ability to manage complex multi-organizational projects.
+ Must possess strong communication skills (oral and written) and technical understanding to take complex technical concepts and present them to a range of technical and non-technical audiences (including senior leadership).

The Lead Network Support Engineer will be responsible for providing operational support for Humana's enterprise network which spans across multiple lines of business from government, retail clinics and pharmacies, distribution centers to the traditional corporate campus and datacenters. **What We're Looking For**
We are seeking a network-focused Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to play a key role in designing, optimizing, and securing the underlying infrastructure that powers our organization's cloud environments. As we transition from a hybrid environment to a cloud-first model, this role will be instrumental in architecting scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure, ensuring seamless workload migration, and integrating new cloud environments into our ecosystem.
With a focus on core cloud infrastructure, including networking, identity and access management, security, storage, compute, and cross-cloud integrations, you will collaborate closely with peers in infrastructure, security, and other areas of the platform engineering team to ensure our cloud environment adheres to best practices, governance frameworks, and automation-first principles.
**What You Will Do**
+ Using Infrastructure as Code tools and mindset, automate the deployment of the environments we provide to our application teams and business units to maximize portability, in a way that is as Simple, Secure, and Scalable as possible
+ With an emphasis on networking, directly support platform engineering partners and application development teams in troubleshooting, provisioning and maintaining various enterprise infrastructure
+ Deploy, maintain, and optimize network infrastructure in Azure, AWS, and managed Colo
+ Configure and manage virtual networks and subnets, including IP addressing, routing, firewall rules, and load balancing
+ Through IPAM, maintain a network topology that provides for integration testing among development teams while remaining flexible enough to unify additional environments as merger and acquisition requires
+ Solution and implement Direct Connect, Express Route, and VPN technologies to establish secure, reliable and resilient connections
+ Work closely with Security and Compliance to ensure security framework adherence (SOC2, Hi-Trust, FEDRAMP etc.)
+ Be a force multiplier for the development teams, enabling them to focus on delivering business value as quickly and efficiently as possible
**What You Need to Succeed**
+ 5+ years of experience with infrastructure management, or platform engineering experience
+ Experience in automation, networking, and general IT infrastructure
+ In-depth knowledge of cloud computing and network technologies
+ The drive to bring clarity to vague situations, a desire to constantly expand your skills and the ability to work closely with a team solving complex problems
+ Communication skills and the ability to describe complex problems to non-technical staff
+ Competency with the following technologies:
+ Compute technologies: Azure VMs, EC2, VMware vSphere
+ Network security:
+ Azure - VNets, NSG, AGW
+ AWS - VPC,TGW, Peering, SG, ALB, NLB
+ NextGen FW, VPN
+ Storage: Azure Files & Blob, Amazon S3
+ Automation: Ansible Automation Platform, Terraform, Git(hub/lab)
+ Core: Windows & Linux, DNS / IPAM, Active Directory
+ Curiosity, adaptability, and flexibility needed to navigate a growing enterprise
**What Helps You Stand Out**
+ Group Policy, AAD / Entra, PowerShell, CIFS & NFS storage protocol, Palo Alto, F5
+ Deep knowledge of cloud services, containerization, and/or Kubernetes
+ DataDog, Cloud Network Monitoring

The estimated total cash compensation range for this role is:
$108,000-$135,000 USD
