Position/Title: Employment Specialist
Payroll Classification: Non-Exempt
Department: Job Support
Reports to: Director of Programming
Hours per Week: Part-time
Summary/Objective: Primary responsibility of an Employment Specialist is to provide job placement and on-the-job training to individuals with developmental disabilities and Autism in the York PA area.
Essential Credentials:
- Experience working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities and autism.
- Reliable transportation and pass required background checks.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule with required availability on evenings and weekends.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- ACRE certification preferred. AASA will provide access to ACRE training to hired candidates who do not have the certification.
- Identify a job seeker's interests regarding employment, relevant work skills, and support needs.
- Build the job seeker's career building skills.
- Identify jobs which align with the job seeker's career goals and needs.
- Network and develop job opportunities for their job seekers.
- Negotiate support and accommodations.
- Provide effective skills instruction in any task.
- Build relationships between natural supports and the client to ensure long term stability.
- Document all observations and daily progress notes in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with all team members in a timely manner.
- Act as a positive role model.
- Meet all training requirements for any active roles assumed for AASA Inc.
- Perform any additional responsibilities and duties as assigned by your supervisor.

What You'll Do
Litigate a diverse caseload of employment law matters, from intake through trial or settlement.
Draft complaints, motions, and discovery with clarity and punch.
Lead or collaborate on depositions, mediations, and courtroom arguments.
Work directly with clients to develop case strategy and ensure they feel heard and supported.
Partner with an internal dream team of litigation support pros and forensic resources.
What You Bring
4+ years of litigation experience, with a strong focus in plaintiff-side or employment defense work.
Knowledge of California labor laws, wage & hour regulations, and civil procedure.
Courtroom confidence, negotiation skills, and a clear communication style.
A heart for justice, and a drive to win.
