Key Responsibilities:
- Employment Compliance : Advise on worker classification, wage & hour laws, immigration employment concerns, equal opportunity regulations, handbook creation, and workplace safety.
- Contracts & Negotiations : Draft and negotiate employment agreements, separation packages, and restrictive covenants (non-compete, non-solicit, confidentiality provisions).
- Strategic Advisory : Oversee reductions-in-force, severance planning, WARN Act compliance, and employment-related due diligence in corporate transactions (M&A).
- HR Leadership & Management : Supervise Corporate HR team and collaborate with HR Managers on compliance, internal investigations, discipline, terminations, wage issues, and sensitive employment matters.
- Litigation & Defense : Support and/or coordinate defense of worker’s compensation claims alongside insurance providers.
Qualifications:
- Education : Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school.
- Certification : Active bar membership in good standing (or eligibility to waive into California).
- Skills : Exceptional writing, research, and analytical abilities; strategic thinking; strong interpersonal communication; client-service mindset; detail-oriented approach.
- Knowledge of employment-related aspects of mergers, acquisitions, business reorganizations, and U.S. federal/state/local employment laws.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years.

The compensation range for this opportunity is between $150,000 to $200,000. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
