- Trains social workers and child welfare support staff through interpreting policy materials, laws and federal regulations.
- Attends personnel training for improving supervisory skills.
- Assigns cases and reviews all staff activities to ensure accuracy.
- Makes screening decisions using policies, rules, and applicable laws.
- Participates in court related matters.
- Maintains a stable and consistent response during ever occurring crisis situations.
- Responsible for planning of services, activities and goals for team/unit while providing continuous assessment and planning.
- Engages in the disciplinary process when work or conduct is not adequate or appropriate.
- Provides constant personnel support of team dealing with highly sensitive and confidential matters.
- Leads staff in a way that helps them to accept change and appreciate differences.
- Constantly assesses the effectiveness and efficiency with which programs operate.
- Maintains accurate records and statistical information regarding unit activity.
- Prepares and submits monthly reports.
- Monitors compliance with rules, laws, and policies.
- Prepares for and attends interagency and partner agency meetings.
- Participates in Child & Family Team meetings and could facilitate such meetings.
- Provides after-hours on-call supervision on a rotating basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations is expected. Employee is required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during, and after the emergency. Employee is also required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.
- Considerable knowledge of methods and principles of casework supervision and training is required.
- Knowledge of social work principles, techniques, and practices must be demonstrated and applied to specific casework and community problems.
- Considerable knowledge of behavioral and socioeconomic problems is required.
- Engage governmental, civic, and private organizations.
- Understand laws, regulations, and policies which govern social work programs.
- Demonstrate skill in supervising, training, and coaching social workers, students, interns, or other child welfare support staff.
- Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, and to plan and execute work effectively.
- Masters degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience; or
- Bachelors degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience; or
- Masters degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience; or
- Bachelors degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of directly related experience; or
- Bachelors degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of directly related experience; or
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Successful completion of Child Welfare Pre-Service Training.
- Possess a valid NC Driver's License.
A minimum of 24 hours of additional training is required for each social work position (including supervisors) annually. Many opportunities are provided for the supervisor to attend program specific and/or technical training alongside staff, but also to attend supervisory skill-building trainings, and professional development trainings.

CDM Smith is seeking a Facilities Space Planning Specialist. This individual provides a broad range of firmwide space planning services for one million square feet of office space; oversees all aspects of design and workplace strategy.
***This is a hybrid position requiring two days per week in the office. The role is based in a metropolitan area on the East Coast of the United States. Candidates must currently reside on the East Coast.
- Responsible for the planning and execution of all design aspects of projects.
- Produce drawings and presentations for internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other team members to gain business intelligence including move and relocation sequencing and execution.
- Manage acquisition of company furniture systems.
- Coordinate between local office, project team, outside vendors and property management. Assists with project managing construction of office space.
- Supports office relocations and/or expansions from planning to completion. Coordinates space planning, facilities and furniture relocation, construction management services, information technology systems services. Participates in the development of the project plan and ensures project is on time and within budget.
- Reviews fit plans and construction documents to ensure company workplace design standards are met. Updates and maintains the department web page and workroom site.
- Performs other duties as required.
