Job Description

At Houston Methodist, the Project Specialist position provides analytical and specialized technical support to department management as well as basic financial tracking of department expenditures, processing of invoices as appropriate. This position is responsible for specific moderately complex, project-oriented assignments which include leading, coordinating and completing projects related to operational activities. The Project Specialist position must be resourceful in seeking solutions, be pro-active and have the ability to handle multiple projects at one time with extreme attention to detail. This position works under the guidance and direction of management and is accountable for high-level clerical support functions, project work and compliance activities including analysis, implementation, coordination, and reporting of project activities initiated by or assigned to department. Additionally, this position serves as a resource in facilitating the implementation and/or rollout of initiatives and tracks to ensure implementation is meeting scheduled milestones.

+ Interpret advanced diagnostic tools for motility, including esophageal and anorectal manometry, and workup for conditions like achalasia, gastroparesis, and IBS.
+ Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for motility-related conditions, incorporating pharmacologic therapy, dietary modifications, behavioral interventions, as well as endoscopic and surgical procedures.
+ Provide expert consultation for patients with complex functional GI disorders, including but not limited to dysphagia, constipation, and reflux disorders, integrating neurogastroenterology approaches in patient management.
+ Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to manage patient care, contributing to innovative treatment plans and ongoing clinical trials.

**Houston Methodist Hospital (HMH)** :
The Department of Neurology in collaboration with The Virtual Department at Houston Methodist, welcomes applicants to apply for the position of Telestroke Neurovascular Nocturnist.
This is an excellent virtual opportunity to join a premier Neurology Program and leading hospital. For 13 years, US News and World Report has consistently ranked **Houston Methodist as the #1 Hospital System in Texas** and the Neurology program is nationally ranked #11.
The acute nocturnal services encompass stroke coverage to the Houston Methodist regional sites with a combination of comprehensive and primary stroke centers with a robust ER presence strategically located throughout the Houston area.
**Houston Methodist Stroke Division:**
The Eddy Scurlock Stroke Center, the first DNV-accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center in the nation, is comprised of 6 vascular neurologists, 2 stroke fellows, and 6 dedicated stroke nurse practitioners. In collaboration with hospital and clinic care, the stroke team provides telestroke services to approximately 3,000 additional patients annually. An additional 7 vascular neurologists provide on-site neurohospitalist and back up telestroke coverage across the system.
**Position Details:**
+ Flexible Schedule: 160-180 shifts
+ Primary Responsibility: Hyperacute stroke management via Telestroke (TNK, ICH, LVO)
+ Hours: 4pm-7am; 7a-7a weekends/holidays
+ Strong neuroimaging diagnostic and virtual stroke evaluation with time-critical care delivery
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enhanced virtual care skills
+ Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with other healthcare professionals across a system
**Qualified Candidates:**
+ Completed Neurology residency
+ Fellowship training in Vascular Neurology with exposure to Telestroke/Teleneurology
+ Eligible for a Texas medical license or currently hold a Texas medical license in good standing
+ Strong interests in academic missions, including high-quality clinical care, education, and research
+ Candidates must reside in TX, LA, FL, TN or WA.

Houston Methodist Department of Surgery in the Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group are seeking an academic Critical Care Intensivist to join our Surgical and Liver ICU team at the Texas Medical Center. The physician will have clinical responsibilities in the ICU and should have training in management of complex surgical illnesses, post-surgical care, and training or willingness to develop expertise in management of liver failure and liver transplant patients.
The candidate should have an excellent academic record or training with demonstrated potential for research funding or with history of prior research funding. The candidate will be provided with time, mentorship, and resources for advancing a research career and can receive academic appointments in the Houston Methodist Research Institute and Weill Cornell based on their credentials and research history.

The Department of Surgery has national expertise in transplant surgery, thoracic, reconstructive, minimally invasive, laparoscopic and robotic surgery, acute care general surgery, surgical oncology, and endocrine surgery. The department has successful research programs in transplantation immunobiology, cancer immunology, cellular therapeutics and diabetes research, organ bioengineering, delirium, and ICU neuro alterations, presurgical rehabilitation, clinical outcomes research, surgical innovation, and patient engagement. The department has top national ranking in clinical outcomes in Vizient and top ranking in surgical safety and clinical outcomes, recognized by the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS NSQIP). The candidate should share the surgical faculty's passion for excellence, innovation, discovery, and their commitment to highest level of clinical care, educating the next generation of surgeons, and maintaining excellence of the residency and critical care fellowship programs.
**Qualified Candidates:**
+ Fellowship trained in Critical Care
+ Training in pulmonary critical care or anesthesiology is preferred but other specialties will be considered.
+ Board Certified/Board Eligible in primary discipline and in Critical Care Medicine
+ Eligible to obtain a Texas medical license or have a Texas medical license in good standing
