Job Description
This role involves working in a laboratory environment to conduct inspections and quality tests on various products including batches of ink, incoming raw materials, aqueous coatings, UV coatings, and pressroom chemistry products. Daily interaction and communication with operations and technical employees are essential aspects of this position.
Responsibilities
+ Test random samples from production batches of UV and Water-based Inks, Coatings, and Adhesives, and recommend adjustments according to Quality Standards.
+ Inspect raw materials to support purchase decisions and help reduce quality variability.
+ Follow testing procedures outlined in the Quality Manual and suggest improvements.
+ Evaluate performance of new formulas and inspection plans, collaborating with formulators and operations teams for improvement.
+ Document and record quality control test results for raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods.
+ Support resolution of quality complaints, both internally and externally.
+ Follow safety guidelines and maintain a tidy and safe workspace.
+ Perform additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned by the company or direct supervisor.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in Chemistry and Analytical Testing.
+ Experience with Coatings, Color, Ink, and Quality control.
+ Knowledge of UV-Vis, titration, and wet chemistry techniques.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 2-year Associate's or 4-year Bachelor's Degree in a Science-related field is required.
+ Applicants with extensive inks/coatings experience will be considered.
+ Ability to distinguish color nuances is important.
+ Open to candidates with a Chemistry degree or equivalent work experience.
+ Biology degrees will also be considered.
Work Environment
The role is based in a chemical laboratory environment where lab coats may get dirty with inks. You will be working alongside other lab technicians in a lab separate from the production line. The position may require flexibility to work on the 2nd shift, although training will initially occur on the 1st shift for several months.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.

We are seeking a meticulous Lab Technician to join our Quality Control team in a color and plastic additives manufacturing lab. The Technician will be responsible for conducting various tests, including viscosity, color, spectrophotometer, and titration. Additionally, you will manage Excel documentation and utilize SAP for data management.
Responsibilities
+ Perform color matching assigned by the Lab Manager with a high level of quality and within the requested time frame. Use the approved methods, follow the FIFO rule, and blend samples for customer tests and evaluations.
+ Collaborate with the Lab Manager to issue Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Technical Data Sheets (TDS), and Quality Control (QC) documents. Prepare any customer-requested declarations and manage technical documentation.
+ Ensure samples are labeled correctly and documentation related to product toxicity and classification complies with relevant laws and regulations.
+ Support customers on environmental issues related to production applications by ensuring the availability of technical and safety data sheets.
+ Regularly follow up on samples to confirm product satisfaction with the customer's production process and color shade requirements. Propose solutions if adjustments are needed.
+ Conduct Quality Control tests on finished products to ensure quality consistency and compliance with customer specifications.
+ Approve or reject incoming raw materials based on technical specifications agreed upon with suppliers.
+ Contribute to defining specifications for new products.
+ Provide technical support and assistance through site visits to customers when requested by the Lab Manager.
+ Report to the Lab Manager on site visits regarding any knowledge that could improve laboratory activities.
+ Represent the company at tradeshows or events when requested.
+ Investigate customer product complaints in cooperation with the Lab Manager, propose corrective or preventive actions, and verify their effectiveness.
+ Manage and control the calibration of all laboratory equipment.
+ Perform tests and suggest recovery instructions for non-compliant products returned by customers or non-compliant production material.
+ Ensure proper information flow to colleagues to enhance the technical knowledge within the laboratory.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including lab instruments.
+ Ensure all data regarding new formulations are completed in SAP timely.
+ Perform additional duties as requested by the Lab Manager.

+ Understanding of LAB values and experience with tools like Datacolor.
+ Proficient in viscosity and titration testing.

Employee health insurance coverage:- Base, Mid, and Buy-up plans: 80% company-paid; 20% out-of-pocket for the employee, spouse and children. The balance will be automatically deducted from the twice monthly paycheck.

Skills and Requirements
4+ years of transferable workforce experience within a finance, treasury, or risk organization with particular focus on the following:
