**A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)**
As a member of the Customs Global Classification team, you
will be responsible for accurately classifying a broad range of products in
accordance with the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) on
behalf of Siemens Energy legal entities in the United States of America. Within
this responsibility you capture data/documentation and determine the accurate
customs classification (tariff) according to the U.S. Harmonized Tariff
Schedule (HTS)!
This position reports to the Global Classification Team and
works in close collaboration with the Customs Operations U.S. Team as part of a
multinational team located in Orlando, FL, Charlotte, NC, or Houston, TX!
**How You'll Make an Impact (responsibilities)**
+ Identifyingthe required information for Customs classification and capturing thisinformation from systems and/or colleagues of the relevant departmentssuch as engineering, R&D and other areas.
+ Analyzing,collaboration, and assistance in classifying goods according to U.S.Customs regulations and U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule. Will need to takeinto consideration the technical attributes required for theclassification process.
+ Supervisingand controlling Customs classification processes. Compliance with the U.S.Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Regulations.
+ Ensureproduct classifications align with The U.S. Customs and Border Protection(CBP) requirements and other relevant trade regulations.
+ Researchand use tools such as Cross Rulings, explanatory notes, U.S HarmonizedTariff Schedule, drawing/specs, and other materials to help classifyproducts.
+ Recommendchanges in current processes when needed.
**Export Control Requirement:**
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations,
candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e.,
current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or
granted asylum.
**What You Bring (requirements)**
+ Bachelor'sdegree in engineering or trade, legal or related or equivalent ofeducation and experience in related field.
+ Atleast 2 years of experience in U.S. Customs and HTS classification.
+ Experiencewith U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classification determination, andability to use multiple tools for information gathering.

We are hiring an **International Trade Compliance Analyst or Principal International Trade Compliance Analyst** who will be based out of our **Linthicum, MD office.**
**What You Will Get To Do:**
The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman Mission System's International Trade Compliance organization, working to ensure compliance with export laws that enhance foreign policy and protect national security. This role supports activities within the Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) Maritime/Land Systems and Sensors (MLSS) Division.
The role and responsibilities of the **International Trade Compliance Analyst or Principal International Trade Compliance Analyst** include, but are not limited to, the following:
+ Manage comprehensive internal export controls to ensure compliance with U.S. (ITAR and EAR) and foreign regulations in the conduct of international marketing, sales, supply chain, and other business activities.
+ Work to ensure compliance with export laws that enhance foreign policy and protect national security.
+ Establish and implement business processes for submitting to and obtaining from the U.S. government all necessary export and import licenses, permits, certifications, and technology release determinations.
+ Assure that transactions comply with government regulations and internal procedures by conducting gate reviews for technical data, foreign travel, foreign visits, and export and import shipments.
+ Maintain applicable trade compliance records in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
+ Participate in training and audit assessment programs to ensure implementation and effectiveness of internal controls.
+ Support law department in investigating and resolving compliance problems, questions, or complaints.
+ Commodity jurisdiction and classification determination; and making determinations regarding applicability of exceptions and exemptions.
+ Develop and deliver presentations, including Export General Awareness training, program/function specific export training, and program/capture export licensing strategy updates to Division leadership.
+ Seek management support and guidance as needed, including collaborating on decisions that have the potential to be high visibility or impact.
The successful candidate will have solid work experience in the defense industry with past work experience in the areas of contracting, international trade, or legal. The position will be responsible for integrating export/import regulations into business processes, applying for all DDTC and BIS licenses, and ensuring regulatory compliance to maximize business outcomes.
**Qualifications:**
**Basic Qualifications for International Trade Analyst:**
+ Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience or Master's degree with a minimum of 1 year of experience in export/import licensing and compliance or a relevant field (e.g. Trade Compliance, Contracts, Legal, Program Management, etc.).
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a US Department of Defense Secret Clearance.
**Basic Qualifications for Principal International Trade Analyst:**
+ Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience or Master's degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in export/import licensing and compliance or a relevant field (e.g. Trade Compliance, Contracts, Legal, Program Management, etc.).
+ Experience applying International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and other US Government Regulations.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a US Department of Defense Secret Clearance.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Proficient in the use of the OCR EASE Software.
+ Experience with use of/authorizing ITAR exemptions and EAR exceptions.

We are hiring a **Principal** **International Trade Compliance Analyst** who will be based out of our **Linthicum, MD office.** Linthicum, MD is preferred, but other MS locations will be considered.
**What You Will Get To Do:**
The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman Mission System's International Trade Compliance organization, working to ensure compliance with export laws that enhance foreign policy and protect national security. This role supports activities within the Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) Airborne Multifunction Sensors (AMS) Division.
The role and responsibilities of the **Principal International Trade Compliance Analyst** include, but are not limited to, the following:
+ Manage comprehensive internal export controls to ensure compliance with U.S. (ITAR and EAR) and foreign regulations in the conduct of international marketing, sales, supply chain, and other business activities.
+ Work to ensure compliance with export laws that enhance foreign policy and protect national security.
+ Establish and implement business processes for submitting to and obtaining from the U.S. government all necessary export and import licenses, permits, certifications, and technology release determinations.
+ Assure that transactions comply with government regulations and internal procedures by conducting gate reviews for technical data, foreign travel, foreign visits, and export and import shipments.
+ Maintain applicable trade compliance records in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
+ Participate in training and audit assessment programs to ensure implementation and effectiveness of internal controls.
+ Support law department in investigating and resolving compliance problems, questions, or complaints.
+ Commodity jurisdiction and classification determination; and making determinations regarding applicability of exceptions and exemptions.
+ Develop and deliver presentations, including Export General Awareness training, program/function specific export training, and program/capture export licensing strategy updates to Division leadership.
+ Seek management support and guidance as needed, including collaborating on decisions that have the potential to be high visibility or impact.
The successful candidate will have solid work experience in the defense industry with past work experience in the areas of contracting, international trade, and/or legal. The position will be responsible for integrating export/import regulations into business processes; applying for all DDTC and BIS licenses and ensuring legal compliance to maximize business outcomes.
**Job Qualifications:**
**Basic Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years experience in export/import licensing and/ or compliance in relevant field (e.g. Trade Compliance, Contracts, Legal, Program Management, etc.), or Master's degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in export/import licensing and/ or compliance in relevant field (e.g. Trade Compliance, Contracts, Legal, Program Management, etc.).
+ Experience working with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and other US Government Regulations.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a US Department of Defense Secret Clearance.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Proficient in the use of the OCR EASE Software.
+ Experience with use of/authorizing ITAR exemptions and EAR exceptions.
+ Experienced and comfortable providing training in person or via virtual methods.
+ Ability to participate in corporate-wide working groups for new procedures, regulatory changes, etc.
+ Able to learn and use new web-based applications including workflows and databases.
+ Experience with making Jurisdiction and Classification determinations.
+ Active Security Clearance.

The International Trade Compliance (ITC) team is responsible for the compliant execution of global export controls and sanctions laws and regulations. The successful candidate will work closely within the ITC team and GE Aerospace programs/functions to compliantly apply international trade laws and regulations to support and drive international business.

**Roles & Responsibilities** :
Consistent with the role of the ITC team, the primary tasks of Lead Specialist - ITC include, but are not necessarily limited to:
+ Manage export shipments by ensuring compliance with authorizations, decrementing licenses, and collaborating across departments to address shipment-related issues.
+ Prepare and file export declarations as required, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
+ Conduct audits of export declaration records to verify proper filings and maintain data integrity.
+ Monitor and report trade compliance activities, including license decrementation metrics and status updates.
+ Provide training on export shipment processes and export declaration compliance.
+ Support senior ITC team members and stakeholders in preparing authorization applications for submission to U.S. regulatory agencies, including the Department of State and Department of Commerce.
+ Process and evaluate requests for export license exemptions/exceptions.
+ Maintain records in alignment with U.S. Government regulations and internal policies.
+ Drive process and procedure improvements, coordinating implementation efforts.
+ Collaborate on projects and initiatives of varying complexity as part of a cross-functional team.
These tasks are performed with some autonomy, but with oversight from more senior ITC professionals as needed and based on the employee's experience and competencies.
