The Department Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UC Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for a full-time (100% time) academic Physiatrist. The position will serve as a faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor track.
Shriners Children’s - Northern California is a surgical subspecialty hospital located on the campus of UC Davis Health in Sacramento that provides comprehensive pediatric rehabilitation care to children from all over the western United States and Mexico, in addition to burn surgery, pediatric surgery, and orthopaedics. The UC Davis Department of PM&R and Shriners Children’s is the premiere pediatric rehabilitation service provider in the greater Sacramento region and home to the only acute inpatient pediatric rehabilitation unit. Sacramento is an easily accessible, family-oriented city in close proximity to the San Francisco Bay area, Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the California coast, and Napa Valley.
Description
This position will provide outpatient clinic in neuromuscular medicine for adults and/or pediatric patient populations. Clinical time will be obligated by staffing outpatient clinics focused on the treatment of neuromuscular diseases, and may also be obligated with electromyography testing, spasticity management, and general PM&R clinics. The candidate will also participate in the general PM&R weekend call rotation staffing our adult and/or pediatric inpatient wards services depending on the candidate.
This position will provide both formal and didactic sessions and clinical supervision for students and house staff, as well as participate in departmental meetings, conferences, hospital and departmental committees.
Qualifications
The candidate must possess an M.D. or D.O. degree and have completed an approved Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Program and be board certified or eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Subspecialty board-certified/board-eligible in Neuromuscular Medicine is preferred. The candidate must be eligible for licensure in the State of California and/or have an active California medical license prior to appointment start date.
Candidates must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment and adhere to University policy and procedures. Demonstrated teaching experience in an academic clinical setting is preferred.
The salary range for this position at the Assistant level is $247,000-$80,500. The salary range for this position at the Associate level is $ 71,900- 305,000.
This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan.
