**_What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health_**
+ Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.
+ Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers.
**_Job Summary_**
+ The Supervisor, Warehouse Operations supervises a team of Outbound Associates and ensures that pick, pack, and ship operations are safe, efficient, and of high quality. The Supervisor continually monitors efficiency and quality metrics, assigns work and provides coaching to supervised staff, and addresses a variety of operational issues. The Supervisor directly contributes to Cardinal Health's customer service reputation by ensuring that shipments are on-time and of high quality, develops the Warehouse Operations talent pool, and enhances operational excellence.
**_Responsibilities_**
+ Direct and manage a team of 15-20 warehouse associates to achieve timely distribution and receipt of products and motivate employees to ensure that predetermined productivity and quality standards including cycle times, lines per hour, shortages, damaged units, missed dispatches, and missed scans, among others are achieved
+ Monitor site productivity standards and hold associates accountable to daily, weekly, monthly metrics; provide timely feedback and initiate corrective action process when needed
+ Adhere to budgetary guidelines, and work to meet Distribution Center objectives and operational goals while maintaining standards pertaining to quality and inventory
+ Responsible for continuous improvement projects and initiatives
+ Perform daily scheduling of the work force to ensure proper staffing to select, replenish, restock, locate, and ship merchandise in a productive and cost-efficient manner
+ Coordinate maintenance of equipment, guiding both preventive maintenance and coordinating all necessary repairs
+ Active engagement in employee development, which includes training, coaching, counseling, and performance appraisals
+ Majority of work day is spent on the floor while balancing administrative duties
+ Collaborate with cross functional teams at all levels within the organization, specifically within HR groups daily
+ Interview and make hiring decisions for lead and associate level roles
+ Maintain general responsibility for disciplinary process in counseling, oral and written warnings; ensure a productive work climate in the warehouse operation
+ Prepare ad hoc reports, as necessary using Excel (or any other necessary programs)
+ Responsible for accurate attendance/PTO records and ensure scheduling is maintained
+ Hold staff accountable for conducting work in a safe manner while enforcing Cardinal Health compliance and regulations concerning OSHA, DEA, FDA, State and local authorities

+ High school diploma or GED preferred, Bachelor's degree a plus
+ 3-5 years related experience preferred
+ Prior experience with continuous improvement projects and initiatives
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
+ Previous experience leading a team
+ Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel (Pivot Tables and spreadsheets)
+ Experience working within ERP's (SAP or Manhattan) preferred

Duties

- Work with the production team to develop capacity contingency plans and help minimize the impact of capacity issues on other departments and our customers
- Learn and understand our purchasing process and be a resource for the purchasing department.
- Use historical supplier performance and other data to best project future supplier performance allowing for improved order timing and quantity.
- Learn and understand our business processes and become a strong user of our Epicor ERP system.
Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Data Science or similar field OR four years of relevant experience.

Covering a variety of business areas and needs, our internships are available to rising seniors in undergraduate programs. Engineered for personal and professional development, our summer program runs for ten weeks from early June through mid-August.
A Supply Chain Intern at Medline will work directly with senior level managers on process improvement and business system projects across all aspects of the supply chain. The scope of work includes optimization of supply and demand planning, inventory deployment strategies, stocking policies, and other projects to meet company objectives on service levels, inventory targets, and expense reduction. The intern will be responsible for extracting data, reporting, and converting data into information to make decisions off of.
Job Description
Examples of possible projects include:
- Analysis on impact of expanding or contracting warehouse network for certain product categories
- Automation of vendor lead time review and maintenance procedures
- Build a forecast and production schedule for the different products or components
- Simulation of different stocking strategies and running different scenarios recommend the lowest total cost option
- Root cause analysis of backordered or surplus products to recommend process improvements
- Optimization of inventory deployment and balancing processes to achieve better outcomes with less manual effort
- Develop reports to detect outliers and potential issues before they impact the system
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or Engineering (Industrial preferred)
- Junior standing with 3.0 minimum GPA preferred
- Strong leadership abilities and demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent organization, communication, data analysis and follow up skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement principles is a plus
- Knowledge of database applications (Access, FoxPro) is a plus
- Unrestricted permanent US work authorization

The anticipated salary range for this position:
$23.25 - $32.50 Hourly
The actual salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
