The Automation Engineer, Automation, Design & Construction is responsible for managing a portfolio of automation system assets & projects across the C&S network as part of the overall Logistics team. This position will oversee all support contracts, obsolescence management (to include MRO spares), short and long term Capital/Expense planning & execution efforts, and will serve as our automation vendor Point of Contact for the systems they manage. This role will support new installations through the design/implementation process and provide subject matter expertise in decisions related to the automation of our network and future expansion/consolidation opportunities.

+ Automation Asset Ownership - Ensure all automation systems in scope are supported by vendors as appropriate (hotline support, VPN support, on-site technicians, etc). Build robust capital and expense project plans 5-10 years out to manage the lifecycle of the systems. Coordinate with IT to ensure relevant software and hardware systems are supported and on a lifecycle plan. Partner with Facilities leadership to ensure proper maintenance plans are in place and executed. Monitor system performance and build actionable plans with site leadership as systems show signs of degraded performance.
+ Automation Partnerships - Be a partner between C&S, Symbotic, and other automation vendor's leadership and resources. Stay up to date on the most recent automation technology by engaging with other warehousing operators (including customers), attending trade shows, etc. Establish and use knowledge of available technology to help select, negotiate, design, and install the best technology solution for C&S based upon the current and future operational needs.
+ Develop and implement standards, procedures and process related to how our automation system are designed, implemented, and maintained to ensure our automation systems continue to perform as designed
+ Coordinate/Lead/Participate in meetings, develop summary presentations, and partner with Corporate Development & Network planning as we define the strategic growth of the company through evaluations of new technologies and acquisitions.
+ Manage defined automation vendors and ensure performance and delivery of responsible items and schedules. Coordinate all aspects of the project with company departments to ensure project delivery and completion regardless of direct responsibility or control.

**Skills**
+ Specialized Knowledge : Automation, Maintenance, Construction Management, Supply chain logistics or Engineering Experience
+ Special Skills : Strong Financial Acumen, Excellent computer skills including Word and Excel.
+ Physical abilities: : Experience building multi year project plans that support current and new automation retrofits or installations
+ Other: : 7-10 years progressive responsibility within automation, maintenance, and project leadership experience.
+ Other: : Change management experience and communication skills, particularly interpersonal, in complex large organizations. Matrix organization experience preferred.
+ Other: : Demonstrated experience in building strategic and tactical plans to improve automation system performance
+ Other: : Strategic thinker with ability to translate strategy into an executable plan. Strong problem solving skills. Strong project management expertise, from ideation to execution and follow-up.
+ Other: : Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize these tasks and follow through to ensure timely results.

+ 7-10 : Relevant automation use in warehouse environments, Strong analytical skills both mathematical and problem solving,
+ 2-5 : Relevant construction or engineering management experience, Project management experience, Demonstrated project and time management skills.

Job Summary :
We are seeking a Warehouse Worker / CDL Driver to join our team at our steel distribution center. In this role, you will play an integral part in handling, organizing, and preparing steel products for distribution, while ensuring a clean and safe warehouse environment. This position requires both warehouse and driving responsibilities, making it ideal for individuals with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and customer service skills.
Pay: $18 - $23/hr
Key Responsibilities :
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport steel products, handling materials both manually and with equipment.
- Warehouse Operations: Organize and store materials properly while maintaining cleanliness and safety in the work area.
- Truck Loading & Driving: Safely load truck beds with steel products, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
- CDL Driving: Operate a flatbed truck for deliveries when needed (Class A CDL preferred ). We are open to Class B and C licenses as well.
- Customer Service: Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner during pickups and deliveries.
- Outdoor Work Environment: Work in an open-air warehouse , exposed to varying weather conditions.
- Construction & Heavy Material Knowledge: Utilize experience in manual labor and construction to understand steel weight capacities and proper handling techniques.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years prior experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or steel distribution environment is a plus.
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to (specify weight limit, e.g., 50 lbs)).
- Experience operating forklifts, cranes, or other heavy machinery (certifications are a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math and measurement skills for reading and interpreting orders.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
