We are seeking skilled and trained General Laborers and Installers with valid driver's licenses, to support warehouse and logistics operations. The team will provide essential labor services, including property movement, inventory management, shipment handling, and furniture installation/disassembly across multiple facilities. The Material Handling Equipment Simulator Operator/88H Technical Instructor will provide support to the US Army Transportation School, Sustainment Center of Excellence (SCoE) MITD-Simulator Operator/Technical Instructor Support Services.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:
  • Will support 88H AIT, PME and functional training when required.
  • The simulator is in use during the work week and is scheduled for multiple courses and blocks of instruction.
  • The operator to simulator ratio is 1:1. There are three simulators. Training is an on-going activity while all other courses/classes are in session.
  • Provide operator and maintainer instruction on various MHE, cranes, and forklifts.
  • Demonstrate functional aspects of all equipment used in training.
  • Support 88H Advanced Individual Training (AIT), Professional Military Education (PME), and functional training as required.
  • Operate and manage MHE simulators during the work week, ensuring they are scheduled for multiple courses and blocks of instruction.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
  • Must be able to physically conduct simulator operator/technical instructor/writer duties and in the stated subject area when required in a classroom, simulator, live training aid, and/or ship environment.
  • Standing for extended periods of time on hard decks or floors exposed to heat and cold conditions is common when conducting live training events.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to analyze situations identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutions.
  • Proficiency in the following Microsoft software programs, which will be furnished as part of the workstation for performance to include software updates as provided: Word 2013; Excel 2013; PowerPoint 2013; and Outlook 2013.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant knowledge acquired through experience/training that is equivalent to education/training, USCG license, and Maritime/Cargo Handling technology degree program.
  • Maritime candidates must have ability to be vetted as meeting the qualifications as a vessel watch officer through the National Maritime Center (NMC) for acceptance as a U.S. Coast Guard approved instructor.
  • The instructor must be capable of providing operator and maintainer instruction with all current Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and all types and sizes of cranes, and forklifts employed by the US Army Transportation Corps and other military service to include, but not limited to: KALMAR RT 240 (53k) forklift; 40-Ton Rough Terrain Container Crane; McGregor ship pedestal crane; All Terrain Lifter Articulated System (ATLAS) forklift; Shipboard operations; Air load, and Rail load equipment/training for US Army operations.
  • Must have prior experience using MHE equipment and can demonstrate all aspects of the equipment functionally.
  • Must be physically able to launch and recover FRBs from a trailer, operate an FRB in calm and adverse (winds up to 20 knots, seas up to 2 feet) weather conditions, stand for periods of 3 to 4 hours continuously, and be capable to lift 50 pounds without injury.
