The Warehouse Supervisor manages the day-to-day operations for a specific department for a shift within the Distribution Center. The Supervisor leads company initiatives and ensures maximum productivity, training in a safe environment, while controlling expenses and shrink, and remaining compliant with company procedures.
HOURS: Monday - Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Manages a team of up to 30 employees and demonstrates excellent communication, inclusiveness, and collaboration skills

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for directing and overseeing the warehouse operations of each retail store. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure all associates are trained and following all standard operating procedures

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

This role is supporting our AmerisourceBergen business, which offers supply chain services to healthcare providers and health systems in the United States.

The primary role of the Warehouse Supervisor is the hiring, termination, direction and performance of associates. The Warehouse Supervisor also oversees functional areas of the warehouse such as receiving, shipping, returns, picking, packing, checking, stocking, order filling, returns and management of the cage/vault as well as overseeing the verification and record keeping of outgoing shipments of controlled substances to customers. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Directs the workflow, motivates, trains and monitors the performance of warehouse associates.
2. Monitors work processes and makes suggestions for modifications to increase and improve productivity, efficiency and accuracy for improving costs; implements changes as directed or needed.
3. Supports compliance with all appropriate policies, procedures, safety rules and DEA regulations.
4. Coaches employees to support their development in the role.

Depending on the assigned area, responsible for:

1. Supervises the receipt of merchandise, ensuring that only products intended for the Distribution Center are accepted by the receiving clerks; ensures that daily logs are maintained with accurate information relative to products received.
2. Oversees the department staff in counting, weighing and identifying items being shipped; checks materials against invoices, bills of lading, customer orders and similar documents.
3. Oversees the department staff in filling orders, double-checking and shipping controlled substances with the assistance of cage/vault clerks or order fillers.
4. Maintains all records of the delivery process such as time, date, quantity, source and destination of materials shipped.
5. Oversees the manifests of routes and departures to ensure customers receive their merchandise in a timely manner.
6. May interact with customers in resolving delivery, or order filling issues.
7. Ensures the maintenance of records documenting order-filling process such as quantity, size, strength and NDC numbers.
8. Oversees the quality of the packing, protecting breakable items to ensure merchandise received by customers arrives in a satisfactory manner.
9. Ensures the maintenance of highly detailed records documenting incoming and outgoing controlled substances into the cage/vault area.
10. Responsible for associates in their area of responsibility; tracks attendance, monitors performance and manages overtime.
11. Performs related duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY

This is an Operations position responsible for supervising the activities associated with night warehouse operations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the supervision of order selection, product replenishment, order loading, ensuring safety and security of the warehouse and providing management and direction to assigned warehouse staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises the daily work and safety of employees engaged in order selection, product replenishment, order loading, including all warehouse functions, selectors, loaders and night forklift operators.
  • Manages labor hours and consumable supplies within budget.
  • Prepares work schedules including extra work days and shifts as needed.
  • Administers the proper utilization of Company assets in support of the warehouse.
  • Coordinates required repairs with proper departments as necessary.
  • Review night warehouse functions and various warehouse productivity reporting. Suggests efficiency ideas, cost reduction measures and assists with implementation of changes within night warehouse.
  • Conducts shipping and loading audit daily ensuring all required documentation is accurately completed (including HAACP, food safety, and catch-weight documentation) and that material is handled and stored correctly with a minimum potential for loss.
  • Assist with monitoring sanitation and facility/racking damage to ensure a safe and clean warehouse.
  • Aid with the training of new associates, including cross-training of existing associates.
  • Preserves associate relations through regular department or pre-shift meetings.
  • Maintains on-going interaction.
  • Keeps open communication channels with associates by answering questions and explaining policies and procedures.
  • Monitors associate morale.
  • Submit and respond to ideas to improve associate engagement and enablement.
  • Interprets trains and consistently enforces Company policies and procedures.
  • Organizes efforts with the Safety department to aid in training, conducting associate observations, up-dating preferred work methods, conducting accident investigations to determine root causes and routine safety inspections.
  • Makes recommendations for disciplinary action and/or behavior modification where required.
  • Execute management functions of staff selection, development, discipline, performance reviews and/or terminations.
  • Performs the duties of employees supervised and other related duties as needed.
  • Complies with local, state and federal regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, AIB, FDA, USDA, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 2 or 4-year college degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management or similar major preferred.

Experience

  • 1-3 years related experience and/or training.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

  • Obtain a Powered Industrial Equipment Certification from Sysco within 3 months.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
