What You'll Do

  • You will review customer orders, locate, prepare, and pack merchandise.
  • Ensure each order is accurate and ready for shipment.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy using radio frequency (RF) scanners.

As a Material Handler, you will manually or by hand truck move materials, supplies, and finished goods to designated places in the facility. You will follow computerized instructions and utilize bar code scanners to identify products and confirm task completion. This role includes loading and unloading of trucks and palletization of finished goods.
**What You'll Do:**
+ Manually load finished products on pallet or hand truck.
+ Manually load and unload trucks.
+ Stack skids or pallets in designated areas.
+ Assignment could include re-tagging, re-labeling, and re-boxing of finished goods.
+ Assist with proper labeling of cases when needed.

Qualifications
Education:
+ 2+ years of demonstrated experience with a High School Diploma or

Proficiency with electrical design build industry materials and equipment, and Logistics Service Center processes and procedures at M.C. Dean, including but not limited to the following skills and abilities:
+ Must have demonstrated experience and proficiency with intermediate level MS Excel and Outlook.
+ Must have excellent reporting and tracking skills, along with a consistent record of accomplishment of accuracy, high productivity, professional level work ethic, and strict compliance with safety policies and procedures.
+ Must demonstrate competency with managing critical tasks individually such as controlling the consignment programs, tool management, managing the lay down area, and/or loading and unloading zones and various other individual responsibilities as assigned
Abilities:
+ The position requires the ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to (50 pounds) on a regular basis. Candidates must demonstrate physical strength and stamina to perform various tasks, including but not limited to, loading, and unloading, operating equipment, and assisting in the transportation of various materials. Proper lifting techniques and safety protocols must be followed to ensure personal and team safety.
+ Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.
+ Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.

The Material Handler is responsible for completing general warehouse tasks, including scanning product, building boxes, and unloading cases.
This role typical reports into the Operations Supervisor and is based in our Stockbridge Distribution Center.
**75** **%:** **Daily Operations**
+ Use scanner to inquire/research cases, adjust/create cases and palletize cases.
+ Unload cases from one pallet and stack onto another.
+ Open cases and tape cases closed.
+ Build boxes and label according to instructions.
+ Tear down cases/boxes and move to compactor.
**25%: Support Functions**
+ Perform other tasks as assigned, including pulling during low volume periods.
+ Support the Coordinator/Supervisor in all duties as assigned including all operational areas of the Distribution Center
**Must have:**
+ Basic knowledge of WMOS, including scanner tasks and functions.
+ Team player willing to perform various job duties to support the department and the facility objectives and key performance indicators.
+ Ability tolift to 50 pounds repetitively, scan with RF equipment, bend, twist, and be on your feet for shifts up to 12 hours long.
+ Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with others (Supervisors, Managers, and peers).
+ Flexibility to work overtime and comply with blackout periods (no vacation or personal time allowed) during peak periods.
**Preferred skills and experience:**
+ Efficiently handle tasks to include material handling and stock movement.
+ Six months in a distribution environment preferred.
