RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Load and unload trucks at the Distribution Center
- Count, weigh, or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
- Receive incoming orders into the ERP system
- Weigh and measure outbound freight to calculate freight class
- Assist with freight quotes and prepare Bills of Lading
- Pick product from warehouse racking and prep for shipment
- Utilize UPS & FedEx Desktop software to process package shipments
- Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
- Operate lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area
- Perform all other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1-3 years shipping & receiving experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others.
- Ability to work independently with minimal instruction is essential
- Flexibility, dependability and good organizational skills required
- Computer/Typing skills, proficiency at managing Excel spreadsheets
- Experience with ERP systems
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods of time; use of hands and arms constantly, able to climb, balance, stoop, or kneel and frequent heavy lifting up to 70 pounds.

Under the responsibility of the Logistics Supervisor, the Material Handler I performs warehouse functions, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting.
**Requirements**
+ High school diploma or equivalent preferred
+ One (1) year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred
+ Valid Forklift Operator's License certified
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills
+ Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
+ Ability to be a team player and able to work within a diverse work environment
+ Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)Able to work within a diverse work environment
+ Highly thorough and dependable
+ Must be punctual and have a good attendance record
+ Performs work independently with minimal supervision
+ Possesses a high degree of initiative
+ Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure
+ Ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs
+ Ability to stand for long periods of time
+ Ability to work using health and safety methods
+ Must be available to work on a flexible schedule on the various work shifts
+ Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices

**Responsibilities**
+ Perform warehouse function, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting
+ Performing duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
+ Responsible for the accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products and loading and unloading of trucks
+ Responsible of dealing with day to day paperwork in a warehouse environment (i.e. picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.)
+ Provide technical and maintenance support for different aspects related to the automated packing system during the core shift hour of production
+ Performing duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
+ Performs other duties as assigned.

**Job Description**
The Material Handler plays a crucial role in maintaining the movement of incoming and outgoing products throughout the facility. Working hours are from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, including a 30-minute lunch break.
**Responsibilities**
+ Follow all policies and guidelines regarding workplace safety and product quality.
+ Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
+ Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas.
+ Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
+ Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials or other stock items and distribute items to production areas.
+ Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets.
+ Mark materials with identifying information.
+ Open bales, crates, and other containers.
+ Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
+ Weigh or count items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
+ Use computers to enter records.
+ Drive material handling equipment to transport stored items.
+ Load and unload trailers of palletized and non-palletized products.
+ Utilize manual and automated material handling equipment.
+ Practice and adhere to appropriate safety and hygiene guidelines/procedures for safe housekeeping and personal protection.
+ Contribute to division results and performance.
+ Take care of internal and external customer needs and expectations.
**Essential Skills**
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management staff.
+ Proficiency in reading information through warehouse computer software.
+ 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
+ Ability to climb and descend stairs, bend, carry, reach, push, and pull frequently.
+ Experience with shipping and receiving, work orders, stocking shelves, sorting, staging, documentation systems, cycle counts, and forklift operations.
+ Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all elements.
