Material Handler – 3rdShift

Excellent Furst-to-Hire opportunity for aMaterial Handler to work on the 3rdshift at a leading Rockford steel company that has been in business in our community for over 80 years. The Material Handler is responsible for moving steel to staging areas manually and with a handheld overhead crane. TheMaterial Handler position provides a lot of overtime – a great way to make extra money! The ideal candidate must be able to work mandatory overtime when needed.

Hours: 9pm until the work is done Sunday-Thursday with mandatory overtime

Pay: $17/hour,with shift differential once hired in

Material Handler Duties:

• Operate overhead crane and mobile cranes

• Machine operation

• Move steel to staging areas manually and with a crane

• Load and unload trucks or railroad cars

Material Handler Skills:

• 1-3 years forklift experience

• Experience operating machines

• Basic computer skills

• Must be able to follow directions

• Demonstrate ability to work safely and efficiently

• Must be willing to work required overtime

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• One (1) year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred

• Valid Forklift Operator's License certified

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse function, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting

• Performing duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract

• Responsible for the accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products and loading and unloading of trucks

• Responsible of dealing with day to day paperwork in a warehouse environment (i.e. picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.)

• Provide technical and maintenance support for different aspects related to the automated packing system during the core shift hour of production

• Performing duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract

• Performs other duties as assigned.
