Position Overview:
The Reach Forklift Operator is responsible for operating reach power industrial trucks for the purpose of moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise. The operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle, while meeting company standards of safety, security, and productivity. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Receiving/Put-Away:

· Input data accurately into WMS.

· Efficiently stack and store products in appropriate area.

· Maintain an organized work area.

Order Picking:

· Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.

· Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.

· Prepare freight for operations accurately and in a timely manner as required.

Quality:

· Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.

· Report quality variances.

· Support 4C's - Customer Satisfaction, Clean and Safe Work Environment, Complete Risk Prevention, Continuous Improvement and 5S initiatives

Delivery:

· Efficiently move product form staging and/or storage to production lines and/or staging docks.

· Ensure proper documentation accompanies freight.

Inventory:

· Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained.

· Assist in physical inventories.

· Ensure proper stock rotation through normal course of daily work.

Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance:

· Maintain the facility, work area and equipment in a clean, neat, orderly manner, and maintain a safe work environment.

· Will comply with all Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site-specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/ MSDS Standards.

· Perform all work in a safe manner

Equipment Operation:

· Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials from elevated racking and varied racking media using a reach forklift or other power equipment.

· On a daily basis, inspect and report issues on the forklift or other equipment.

· Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods to include daily OSHA safety checklist inspection.

· Associates must maintain an active forklift certification.

· Assist with correcting pallets improperly stored at elevation and correcting unsafe / tipped pallets

Maintenance:

· Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.

OTHER DUTIES (Site Specific)

· Participate in physical inventories as assigned.

· Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY:


The Receiving, Material Handler is responsible for all tasks associated with receiving for all inbound deliveries, storing materials in the appropriate area and distributing items and moving materials manually or by operating material handling equipment.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Understand, support, and follow all necessary safety guidelines and company policies.

  • Perform quality checks as required. Verify to ensure the raw material requests are pulled correctly and put away in the correct locations.
  • Perform physical inventories cycle counts accurately as requested.
  • Review inventory variances. Use root cause analysis and take appropriate corrective action or notify management to resolve issues.
  • Provide development and training assistance for peers as necessary.
  • Responsible for maintaining 5S functions within the work area including daily sweeping and organizing floor and work area.
  • Consistently provide feedback regarding daily issues to management and other team members.
  • Make it your goal to maintain good attendance. You are expected to be at your workstation and ready to work at the start of each shift and after break periods. Report for work as scheduled and remain at work for the entire workday.

Requirements:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE POSITION

Responsibilities:

  • Exemplifies the Amcor Behaviors and Values at all times. Leads by example and exhibits professionalism in all areas when representing Amcor inside and outside of the plant
  • Adhere to all safety rules of Berry Global and the Logistics team
  • Ensure that the Automated Stretch Wrappers remains working efficiently and in proper working capacity
  • Continuously monitor and maintain system dunnage levels (slip sheets, wrapper film, empty pallets, etc.)
  • Finish production room processes by wrapping finish goods (if applicable), and performing a Script 41 - Move on product coming directly off the wrapper and proceeding to scan goods to storage location
  • Understand and abide by all set standards and guidelines within the Warehouse Department
  • Load / unload and troubleshoot logistics equipment (Wrappers / Dock Locks / Garage Doors / Battery Charging Stations)
  • Understands and will adhere to all ISO & SQF guidelines and policies
  • Take and score highly on all yearly HR required MyDevelopment courses
  • Take and score highly on all GDC Training course deemed necessary by Safety
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area
  • Responsible for placing product in designated rows in warehouse neatly and evenly
  • Supply production area with needed raw materials
  • Ensure labeling and packaging are correct prior to moving product into warehouse by understanding how to read a traveler
  • Communicate with warehouse and production leadership daily
  • Responsible for loading trucks to customer specifications; verify quantity, product, labeling and packaging is correct
  • General housekeeping of warehouse and dock areas
  • Ensure all trailers are properly inspected and corresponding documentation is filled out properly prior to loading
  • Use problem-solving skills to handle situations that may arise
  • Any other tasks or projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Proven ability to lead and understand all customers for each product line
  • Strong organizational skills and proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Able to work independently in a potentially isolated area of the building
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Excellent reading comprehension
  • Competency in simple math
  • Proven competency in written and verbal communication
  • Ability to problem solve and execute solutions
  • Ability to effectively use a computer
