The role you'll contribute:

The Workforce Development Specialist supports the program leadership on the daily operations of leading strategy for filling workforce gaps in the acute care setting. The Workforce Development Specialist supports change activities and works to assure implementation of career pipeline programs as determined by the current labor demand. This position will serve as a mentor and advocate for facilitating the professional growth of internal/external perspective team members. The Workforce Development Specialist is skilled in coaching and has an ability to make intentional and impactful connections with the community and with perspective team members in a way that supports their development while building viable future candidate pools. The Workforce Development Specialist will partner with all levels of leadership to understand department & role specific needs across the organization and identify optimum team members candidates for positions within the AdventHealth workforce pipeline. The Workforce Development Specialist collaborates with business unit and department leadership to maintain a high level of positive professional and cultural interactions. Promotes healthy work environment standards that support teamwork, collaboration, and positive work relationships. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

Minimum qualifications:

Preferred qualification:

  • Master's degree in nursing, business or related field.

  • 1-3 years' experience in leadership.

Summary:

The Assistant, Workforce Development, will assist the Community School Administrator, Supervisor, and/or Director of Workforce Education in the strategic planning and delivery of workforce educational services to Career Technical and Adult Education (CTAE) students. The duties of the Assistant, Workforce Development, are multifaceted and can include secretarial and classroom support functions. The Assistant, Workforce Development, must exercise good judgment, be a multitasker, exercise initiative, be knowledgeable of all adult education programs, and exhibit professionalism.
Responsibilities:
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conducts adult education student registration and testing.
• Supports specific secretarial functions to assist the Career Technical and Adult Education (CTAE) Administrator in meeting Workforce Development Information System (WIDIS) deliverables.
• Initiates or provides backup for payroll, bookkeeping, and financial aid at the CTAE district office and/or CTAE school site level.
• Prepares various reports, summaries, payroll, travel, maintenance requests, and other required documents as directed.
• Acts as the main substitute for adult education teachers.
• Monitors and assists with all adult student instructional platforms.
• Assists with behavior management, as needed.
• Provides entry-level assessments for CTAE students.

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Workforce Development Lead (Moving I-4 Forward) to join our team within the FDOT Corridors Program Office (CPO) located in Celebration, FL . This is an embedded position reporting to the office 5 days per week.

This position will assist the Moving I-4 Forward program, one of the highest-profile projects in the state! This position will work with a team of engineers at the CPO, FDOT, and others around the state to deliver this program.

How will you contribute to the team?
  • Oversee and manage the workforce development program aligned with project needs and workforce priorities.
  • Forecast current and future workforce demands for all transportation related professions, including a focus on those within the transportation construction and engineering trades, identifying resource gaps and associated required skillsets.
  • Develop strategies and partnerships to support training, certification, and placement pipelines. Lead and oversee the identification, prioritization, and development of all necessary curriculum.
  • Coordinate with transportation construction contractors, engineering professionals, and training institutions to ensure consistent progress on workforce goals and milestones.
  • Monitor program performance and report on workforce readiness, diversity goals, and skills development outcomes.
  • Align workforce planning milestones with FDOT Work Program with project delivery schedules to ensure talent availability matches construction timelines.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on workforce trends, best practices, and industry workforce compliance requirements.
  • Oversee workforce development staff and resources to ensure timely and accurate completion of high priority items, as well as efficient ongoing operations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners. Collaborate with other offices within FDOT and stakeholders to achieve operational goals.
  • Prepare and oversee workforce development budgets, including tracking expenditures and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Perform other such duties as program leadership deems necessary.
What will you contribute?
  • Bachelor's degree in Workforce Development, Public Administration, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including leading workforce programs.
  • Experience with engineering, infrastructure or transportation projects is a plus.
  • Experience working with or on behalf of state agencies or public sector clients, preferably within Florida
  • Demonstrated ability to lead workforce programs from FDOT's perspective, ensuring alignment with project performance.
  • Strong understanding of training frameworks, apprenticeships, technical education, and trade readiness.
  • Certifications related to transportation management, logistics, or safety would be beneficial.
  • Understanding of FDOT regulations: Knowledge of applicable government laws and regulations related to transportation is a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills: Ability to motivate, guide, and develop a team of employees.
  • Organizational skills: Efficiently manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and resources.
  • Communication skills: Clearly and effectively communicate with staff, stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Problem-solving skills: Identify and resolve operational issues, supply chain disruptions, and staffing concerns.
  • Analytical skills: Analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
