+ The candidate is expected to exercise sound judgment within broadly defined practices and policies; regularly interact with all levels of management, functional POCs, staff, and customers; and display a high degree of tact and diplomacy.
+ Characteristics for success include: excel at multi-tasking, familiarity with System Integrator (Leidos) business development process and practices, business and technical vision; strategic thinking; analytical presentation and problem solving skills; the ability to gain internal support; and the ability to establish and maintain a solid working relationship with technical staff, managers, and peers. **Basic Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 15+ years of professional experience
+ Strong familiarity and relationships with US Air Force
+ Demonstrated ability to develop a business growth pipeline across a heterogeneous portfolio
+ A natural aptitude for strategic planning, financial analysis, business development and teaming
+ Diplomatic, persuasive and articulate communication style to establish and maintain rapport with internal and external customers / partners
+ Aptitude for milestone-based business development and capture process; to include opportunity identification, developing business cases, and capture management
+ Proactive, superior attention to detail, project management, and organizational skills

**Leidos' Airborne Solutions Business Area (ASBA) is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to manage and grow the United States Air Force airborne manned and unmanned portfolio of programs.**

+ Proven capture and proposal experience, preferably for aviation programs and including programs valued at $50M+.
+ Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

+ Additional relevant certifications and training such as Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level 1+, Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM), Project Management, and Lean Six Sigma and similar process improvement techniques are also desired.
+ Experience producing cost estimates in both traditional and agile software development environments; commercial versus organic (DoD) development solutions; and efforts to shift program sustainment and development into a Cloud environment are desired.
+ Additionally, a general or integrated perspective and/or experience in DoD acquisition, financial management, and cost analysis is desired.
+ Experience using the following cost estimating tools is desired:
+ ACEIT (Automated Cost Estimating Integrated Tool)
+ SEER-SEM (Software Evaluation and Estimation of Resources - Software Estimating Model)

The annual salary range for this position is $89,000.00-$148,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
