We currently have an Embedded Installation Technician opening for team-oriented individuals possessing vocational training in electronics or electromechanical engineering. In this role, you will be responsible for providing service on our products at customer sites. The position provides customer contact for all post-installation problems on security systems and equipment, as well as, special project work, when needed.
Responsibilities
- Services intrusion, fire, CCTV, and access control security systems.
- Performs scheduled, routing preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment/systems under contract agreement by inspecting, adjusting, cleaning, and calibrating systems and checking out equipment to ensure it’s in satisfactory working order.
- Completes maintenance, within assigned hours, in a manner that reduces emergency calls and results in achieving the goal of zero call backs.
- Assists with the start-up of new equipment or system installation and adjusts as needed to ensure the system is operational
- May plan schedules, lay out basic electrical equipment installations, and assist in the start-up and check-out of new systems installations
- Presents a professional image both in personal and vehicle appearance.
- Performs work assignments in a safe manner and within specified cost limits.
- Promotes, builds, and maintains good customer relations and assists with contract retention.
- Maintains company propriety and documentation in accordance with established policies; handles proprietary information in the prescribed manner; adheres to and supports Securitas Technology policies and procedures including all safety requirements.
- Keeps abreast of changes and new developments in products and technology.
- Attends and completes training programs as requested.
Minimum Requirements
- MUST HOLD a minimum of 1-2 years of experience installing and/or servicing intrusion, fire alarm, access control, and CCTV security systems.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Vocational/Technical Degree in electrical, security, or computer systems preferred
- A thorough knowledge and understanding of intrusion detection systems, electronic access control, CCTV, IP video, Surveillance systems, fir alarm and life safety systems
- NICET Certification preferred
- Lenel, Pro-Watch, Software House, Picture Perfect certifications preferred
- Climb ladders that extend up to 24 ft. in heights
- Carry items up to 75 pounds
- Ability to work on-call on a rotational basis covering after hours & weekend emergency calls.
- A valid state driver’s license, without restrictions, is required.
- Bosch, Honeywell, Radionics, or DMP system knowledge preferred

Position Summary
To work in accordance with established procedures and/or specific instruction from Service Supervisor. Responsible for the completion of non-technical routine resident service related work, preparation of turnover units, and maintenance projects. Performs work in the areas of general carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. Responsible for maintaining company equipment, inventory, vehicles, and workshop.
Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Completes routine service requests to assure the highest quality customer service satisfaction. Returns completed work order slips, noting supplies and materials used, time to complete the call, and the date of completion
- Prepares turnover units for occupancy, according to management schedule. Completes and returns turnover checklist
- Completes on-call emergency service requests, according to established emergency list. On-call sequence is determined by individual property. Must know location of emergency system controls
- Maintains adequate inventory levels
- Reports any maintenance problems to the supervisor
- Participates in ongoing community maintenance and improvement plans
- If assigned a vehicle, maintains logs on that vehicle. Responsible for proper maintenance of that vehicle and any other equipment assigned
- If a vehicle is not assigned, must have reliable transportation
- Performs general maintenance on interior and exterior of buildings and common areas
- Must know community building names, geographic layout of property, and placement of water main lines, water cutoffs, and sewage clean outs
- Informs supervisor of additional maintenance work that needs to be done to improve/maintain property
- Takes rotating "on-call" responsibility
- Assists in training other members of the Service Team when necessary
- Assists in creating and maintaining an inventory and supply listing (this information should be reviewed on a regular basis with the Property Manager)
- Assists in creating and maintaining a product inventory notebook identifying the different products used in the apartment homes. In addition, this notebook should include warranty information
- Assists in completing move-out inspections when necessary
- Performs miscellaneous service duties. Helps in maintaining shop cleanliness
- Completes service requests and functions related to preparing the apartment home for occupancy. This includes, but is not limited to preparing, painting, cleaning, and carpet shampooing
- Completes as deemed appropriate by the Property Manager and Service Manager, service requests and preventative maintenance services for residents and property
- Participates in the on-call scheduling for the on-site Service Team
- Performs snow and ice removal from parking lots and sidewalks
- Mold awareness
- Attends training seminars, trade conventions and meetings deemed necessary and beneficial
- Reports maintenance progress to Property Manager on a regular basis
- Obtains and implements all necessary information to comply with local and federal laws (including employment information, OSHA information, Fair Housing, etc.)
- Assists the Service Manager in coordinating all on-site maintenance Service Team's functions
- Completes service requests and preventative maintenance services for residents and property
- Performs all other duties at the request of the Service Supervisor
- Flexibility in work schedule as determined by regional management may be required periodically to insure adequate staffing

Job Overview:
Apartment Services, Inc. is hiring a Maintenance Technician to support daily operations at our residential properties. This role includes general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliances. We're looking for a reliable, skilled technician who takes pride in delivering high-quality work and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the interior and exterior appearance of buildings and property grounds
- Perform repairs on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and appliances without assistance
- Complete resident service requests within 24 hours and address move-in checklist items
- Inspect and maintain alarm systems, including carbon monoxide and fire protection
- Keep maintenance records and report routine and emergency issues to the Service Supervisor
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety protocols, Fair Housing, and applicable laws
- Maintain a clean, organized maintenance shop and secure all tools and keys
- Respond to on-call emergencies within 15 minutes by phone and arrive on-site within 30 minutes
- Participate in snow and ice removal, including salting, shoveling, and pretreating when needed
- Support a team environment and assist coworkers as required
- Bring and maintain personal tools necessary for completing daily tasks
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliance repairs
- Familiarity with general maintenance processes and mechanical systems
- Ability to safely operate hand tools and power tools
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or with a team
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in residential or commercial settings
- Physically able to lift 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments
- Comfortable working in hot, cold, indoor, and outdoor conditions
- Valid driver's license is required.
- Use of a vehicle for the duration of each scheduled shift is mandatory.
