The CT/X-ray Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic procedures in accordance with approved techniques and standards as established by radiologist governing and professional bodies. Essential Functions: · Produce emergent and routine diagnostic images with fixed and portable X-ray. · Produce routine and emergent diagnostic images with CT Room. · Able to adjust exposure settings for proper image acquisition. · Adjust patient positioning in order to acquire the best images based on anatomical structures. Adjust table and radiation beam to minimize radiation exposure to maximum patient protection (ALARA). · Process images in PACS for the Radiologist. · Complete exams per Radiologist protocols. · Document, charge, and process with electronic medical records. · Schedule patients for appointments in X-ray, CT, MRI, US, DXA, and Holter Monitor. · Inform and assist patients with contrast media administration for CT exams. · Involved with quality control concerning equipment, radiation safety, and patient safety. · Ensure that exams are completed in timely and correct manner. · Provide Customer Service to patients, and staff. Minimum Qualifications: · Required Credential: R.T.(R)(ARRT) · Preferred Experience: 1 year experience working as a CT or X-Ray technologist. Technical Skills: Demonstrates skills and behaviors indicative of an adequate working knowledge of and clinical proficiency in radiographic procedures, principles of radiation physics, and human anatomy and physiology. Cares for residents in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment. Responsible for the coordination of care, resident assessment, resident education and various other nursing interventions.

May serve as charge nurse and delegate appropriate tasks to license and unlicensed assistive personnel that are within the job descriptions, skills, resident care needs, and the competence level of the delegate. Provides adequate assistance and support to delegates to ensure safe, reliable administration of resident care and resolution of care and service concerns. Functions within the scopes and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in state of practice and licensure. The Professional Nursing Practice recognizes the Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as published by the American Nurses Association as the foundation of nursing care delivery and professional conduct.

Qualifications

Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.

Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
