We are looking for a Physical Therapist (PT) for an immediate travel opening in Benton, AR. The right PT should have 1 year of experience; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted. Read below for additional requirements.
As a PT, you will be responsible for the evaluation, development, and execution of a plan of care for a variety of patient populations in the acute care setting.
TasksAs a PT, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:
- Oversee supervising PTAs, support staff (therapy technicians)
- Bill within the respective setting, following guidelines within settings for facility
- Understand the respective PT board's rules and regulations, complying within respective state
- Interface with Medical Center personnel and physicians to ensure team-focused plan of care
- Understand adaptive equipment
- Evaluate and create a plan of care

- Use Medical Center computer systems in performance of daily tasks

- Provides educational development through guidance and teaching and serves as a technical resource person to the patient, patient's family, physician, students and other hospital staff regarding respiratory care procedures.

- Participates in departmental/hospital continuous improvement opportunities.

- Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects and maintain control of work flow.

Physical Demands
- Exposure to patient body fluids.
- Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
- Ability to read and write and to communicate both orally and in writing with other individuals.

- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 150 lbs. as well as carry up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to stand, squat, reach, bend, walk, twist, and sit in one place throughout the shift.
- Ability to use hands and feet together for repetitive, coordinated motions.
- Good hand-eye coordination.

A Brief Overview
Responsible for assisting the Registered Nurse in implementing the plan of care for a group of patients and functioning in a technical role in providing quality patient care. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.
What you will do
- Contributes to the nursing assessment by collecting, reporting, and recording objective and subjective data.
- Provides direct care in a safe manner.
- Evaluation of the plan of care on a continuous basis.
- Effectively communicates in writing and orally with patients/families and other health team members.
- Participates in activities designed to improve health care delivery in assigned area.
Education Qualifications
- Technical Degree or Diploma Nursing - LPN
Experience Qualifications
- 1-3 years LPN Willing to float to adult facilities
Licenses and Certifications
- BASIC LIFE SUPPORT - American Heart Association
- Licensed Practical Nurse - Arkansas - Arkansas State Board of Nursing
- Licensed Practical Nurse - Mississippi - Mississippi Board of Nursing
- Licensed Practical Nurse - Tennessee - Tennessee Board of Nursing

Physical Demands
- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- The physical requirements of this position are: medium work - exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.
- The Associate is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
