Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Certified Surgical Technologist Resident, you will ensure all equipment and instruments are operational and maintain adequacy and organization of equipment, supplies, and instruments. You will assist professional staff in providing care for the operative patient before, during, and after surgery.

  • You will ensure that proper instrumentation and supplies are available on the surgical field and in the operating room
  • You will help the sterile operative team, perform scrub and circulating duties in the operating room, and perform routine and specialized housekeeping duties
  • You will apply principles of asepsis, infection control, and medical ethics
  • You will facilitate safe and effective completion of invasive surgical procedures
  • You will position the patient on the operating room table and prepare by draping the patient and operative site
  • You will assist the circulating nurse in maintaining correct needle, sponge, and instrument counts
What qualifications you will need:

Education

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Graduate from an accredited educational program for Surgical Technology

The HCA Nurse Residency Program at St. David's Healthcare provides you with the tools necessary to succeed in today’s hospital environment. This paid program will assist you with the transition out of the classroom setting through a formalized series of learning experiences, including:

The RN Resident coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN Resident provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN Resident serves as an advocate for patients, families and caregivers to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What will you do in this role:

  • Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Perform the administration of prescribed medications. Monitor patient for therapeutic response. Notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response to medication.
  • Perform exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strive to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
  • Teach patients, families and caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Certified Surgical Technologist Resident, you will ensure all equipment and instruments are operational and maintain adequacy and organization of equipment, supplies, and instruments. You will assist professional staff in providing care for the operative patient before, during, and after surgery.

  • You will ensure that proper instrumentation and supplies are available on the surgical field and in the operating room
  • You will help the sterile operative team, perform scrub and circulating duties in the operating room, and perform routine and specialized housekeeping duties
  • You will apply principles of asepsis, infection control, and medical ethics
  • You will facilitate safe and effective completion of invasive surgical procedures
  • You will position the patient on the operating room table and prepare by draping the patient and operative site
  • You will assist the circulating nurse in maintaining correct needle, sponge, and instrument counts
What qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • (CST) Certified Surgical Technologist must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
  • Associate Degree, or Vocational School Graduate

Job Summary:

TeamHealth at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center would like to recruit a GME Program Director of Emergency Medicine. This is a hybrid role consisting of GME program director and emergency medicine at a level II Trauma emergency department. 

The GME Program Director is responsible for the leadership, organization, operation and the general administration of the program.  Establishes the strategic direction of the program and is responsible for the standards, quality and reputation of the Emergency Medicine residency program.

The Program Director will integrate the Emergency Medicine residency program with physician practices and hospital clinical services in a manner that enhances value and quality, and promotes an optimal environment for graduate medical education.   

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of three years’ experience as physician faculty in an ACGME accredited Emergency Medicine residency program
  • The Program Director must possess the required specialty expertise, as well as documented educational and administrative abilities, to carry out the responsibilities of the role and to achieve the goals and objectives of the program 
  • Current Certification by the American Board of Emergency Medicine  
  • Demonstrate clinical competency as a practicing emergency medicine physician 
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role (APD, core faculty, residency committee chair, or site director) in the most recent three years
  • Must participate in ongoing scholarly activity, including peer-reviewed publications
  • Schedule: 50% clinical (some night and weekend coverage) and 50% GME focused 
  • ED Volume: 80,000 per year, 2.3 patients per hour

Job Summary and Qualifications

The HCA Nurse Residency Program at St. David's HealthCare provides you with the tools necessary to succeed in today’s hospital environment. This paid program will assist you with the transition out of the classroom setting through a formalized series of learning experiences, including:

  • Advanced clinical training in a specialty area.
  • Monthly educational sessions.
  • Preceptorship training with a facility preceptor.
  • Measurement and evaluation of skills through hands-on simulations.
  • Mentoring from experienced nurse leaders.
  • Working collaboratively on an evidence-based practice project.

Inpatient Rehab RN Residency positions are available at the following hospitals: 

  • St. David's Medical Center
  •  St. David's Georgetown Hospital 
  • Round Rock Medical Center
  • St. David's Surgical Hospital

Summer cohort start dates in May, June, July and August 2025.

The RN Resident coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN Resident provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN Resident serves as an advocate for patients, families and caregivers to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What will you do in this role:

  • Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Perform the administration of prescribed medications. Monitor patient for therapeutic response. Notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response to medication.
  • Perform exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strive to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
  • Teach patients, families and caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment
  • Other Certifications maybe required during employment
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State of Texas
  • No previous experience needed
  • Some travel maybe needed for training
