The Respiratory Therapist provides direct respiratory care to patients in all areas of the hospital as outlined in Pulmonary Services procedure manual. Perform ABGs and process according to department procedure, understand results and take appropriate action

Follows the AIDET model( Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation and Thank)l at all times,

Demonstrate proficiency with multiple devices i.e. EzPAP, Flutter Valve, PEP, Theravest/Smart Vest, Acapella and Incentive Spirometry

Demonstrate ability to initiate and operate the Draeger Ventilator

Demonstrate proficiency in the set-up and operation of the iVent

Demonstrate ability to identify appropriate, initiate and document in hospital IPOCS

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

· Associate's Degree or Graduate of a Technical School

· 1 Years of Experience
