Applicants should have a current NM RN or compact license and possess an associate or bachelorâ s degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:
- Certifications:
- BLS upon hire
- NRP and ACLS within six months of hire or transfer into position
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring or Advanced Fetal Monitoring and STABLE within one year of hire or transfer into position.
- New hires will have ninety (90) days from date of hire to obtain American Heart Association certifications. Notwithstanding this â grace periodâ for obtaining American Heart Association certifications, employees are not excused from being current in all existing certifications that are required for their position as outlined in the position job description.

The primary responsibility of the Cath Lab Tech is to provide assistance with patient care in the cardiac catheterization lab (CCL) through the provision of technical assistance to the cardiac catheterization team.

- Assists cardiologist during procedures by operating ancillary equipment, anticipating and obtaining catheters, wires and other necessary inventory and medications as ordered.
- Assure compliance with federal, state, and local technical and professional regulations and accepted practiced guidelines.
- Delivers quality, cost-effective patient care in a professional manner.
- Works effectively to maintain an environment of excellence, which is patient-focused, providing timely, compassionate, quality patient care.

"Echocardiography Technicians (Cardiac Sonographers) are a very specific kind of diagnostic medical sonographer dealing with the heart. Echo technicians use ultrasound devices and other imaging tools that use sound waves to create images of the heart. They inspect the chambers and walls of the heart as well as the valves."
